I have the Isis sleeve, and the memory foam is very nice. The zipper protection is outstanding because the inner lip (also memory foam) is very high and wraps just over the top of the corners of my mbp, protecting it very well. Now the foam is not as thick as the zeroshock, but it seems sturdy (firm) in terms of elasticity. Good quality memory foam IMO.

As an aside, they have some of the best customer service ever. I had a sleeve that did not fit right at first, and took forever to zip for some reason. I was contacted by them and asked how everything was, told them about the first sleeve, and they sent me a new one free of charge without asking for the old one back (I offered and they said to keep it). I was very pleasantly surprised. The price cannot be beat either.

Great to hear...thanks for the review. I remember reading your post in the archives and it sounded like their customer service was nice which is one of the deciding factors....I figured less risk. I actually like that the foam isn't as thick as the zeroshock because I thought the zeroshock would be too thick for my tastes. Thanks again for the info!

Mods, feel free to move to Peripherals if need be. (I can also switch to hyperlinks immediately upon request)

Ok, I just received my Codex 15 today, and since pics are available yet sparse on this case, I figured I would post my unboxing for those interested in the case. I find it to be a VERY high quality case, with thick, strong, memory foam padded protection, and a spill resistant exterior that looks as sleek as you could possibly ask for. The dent in pic 1 was from shipping. Enjoy!

(questions welcome, but don't quote my post, as the pics would be unnecessarily posted twice)

Looks like a good protective case, for just the MacBook Pro. Does it have any pockets to hold say a mouse, or the power supply? Also out of curiosity, how much did this set you back?

I still love my Isis sleeves though. Especially with the monetary aspect taken into account. I will be receiving a Zeroshock III any day now, and will post how that one works out too for everyone's sake looking into these cases, and give a better side-by-side comparison of the three.

Thanks Sylar...this is a great post. I received my Isis today and I am very happy with the fit and quality of it. I still wish it had a handle. I like the look but find that I tend to like to pull the macbook out without completely opening the sleeve and it may be a bit difficult to do with the moshi. It looks very nice though...I still might decide to go with it later on. For now the Isis will do just fine.

I am interested to see what you think of the Zeroshock though!

If you decide to get rid of any of the sleeves let me know as I may be interested depending on how well I continue to like the Isis. Thanks again for all the images!

i got my isis cover yesterday and its pretty good. a little stiff around the edges but good nonetheless.

its much softer than zeroshock cases (zeroshock2 for my dell laptop) but should provide enough protection in a bag

I have an Isis memory foam cover for my 15" mbp and it seems to work ok. It zips tight, but there is too much room for the mbp to move around once it is zipped closed. I think a nice, tight fitting sleeve would be better.

Sylar,

I ordered the pink SE Moshi 13 Codex thanks to your post. :) I will try to post pictures when I recieve it. I don't have a camera though, so I will either have to borrow one or you guys will have to deal with iSight pics ... :)

i've also just order the moshi palmguard

sound pretty good,, though i've never actually used one.

Basically I am very bored of waiting for my MBP so I keep but bits 'n' bobs for it.

I wish I'd seen this when I'd ordered my Codex ... because my palm rest is changing color! :(

Glad I could help. After a few days trying it out, I like my Isis Sleeve(s) far better in terms of practicality though. Yes the Moshi technically protects the notebook better, but that's due to it being more of a briefcase than a sleeve. It's thick as heck and much heavier. All that said, different strokes and all. Many people (I hope you especially) will love the Moshi Codex covers.

The Isis, IMVHO, is the perfect marriage of protection, size/weight, and convenience (in terms of access). They also have the cheapest prices and INCREDIBLE customer service, which make them literally a no brainer.

I didn't like the design of Isis cases. The design of the case may be the most important part to me, to be honest. The handle is also important to me, and I don't mind the extra weight or thickness.

I don't mind paying the extra for such a lovely design.

after having it for a week. the isis is pretty decent but i always have trouble zipping it around the corners. always. unzipping is easy but not zipping

Just got an Isis cover. Got the original black 15". It's really great. Fits very tightly, and the foam is so cool. It's thin, but when you push into it, it just slowly moves in. One thing though, if you put your lappy in when it's still hot, the foam becomes more squishy.

Anyways, it works great for just sliding into my backpack.

Oh yeah, and one of the zipper tabs broke off when I was trying to zip around the corner and I didn't quite have my MBP in all the way. I probably could have written Isis about it, but I just tied a string on there and it works good (won't break either). The zipper is kind of a poor design, but the sleeve part of it is what counts.

I know the thread is old but I wanted to thank Sylar for the great Isis recommendation. I looked over Moshi cases which I really liked but I thought they were way too expensive. I looked at Isis cases and Marware cases. I didn't really like the Marware designs so I trusted Sylar and went with an Isis case. I bought the 13.3 inch Pink Polka dot cover and I love it. It fits great and you can't beat the price! Thank you Sylar!!!;)
Thank you for the kind words. As a fairly new member here, I'm just glad my contribution(s) is/are helpful to people. Isis is by far still my favorite sleeve for my MBP.

Quick Edit: I received the Zeroshock sleeve a little while back, and while it was similar to the Isis in it's design, the foam was just much too stiff for my liking (even moreso than the moshi codex). I returned it immediately.
