Issues downloading files from iPhone

Actually now it says "Converting" - or maybe my old eyes didn't see that before.

So that implies it is converting my video to a format that macOS Sierra can use?

It is scary how long this is taking...

One interview I did on Thursday was like 40 minutes and I think the file is maybe 20GB.

Is Airdrop going to work with a file that big? Especially if it has to convert things?

Sounds like it is converting. Did you change change your photo’s setting to keep original or is it still Automatic ? The iphone has a pretty powerful chip in it, so hopefully will not take too long. At least it looks like we got it working.

well if it has converted, at least you will be able to review the video before you upgrade the OS.

File size should not be an issue.

I think I set it back to "Automatic" because that one article recommended that, but I don't want to check while it is *still* converting.

I'm getting really concerned at this point...

There is a blue line around the user2 avatar and it is at about 25% done and hasn't changed position in like 20 minutes.

I need to get out in the field and start interviewing people as it will get dark in a few hours.

At this rate this conversion won't be done for a long long time?!

What can I do?

Why not?

Airdrop can handle any file size as long as there is sufficient storage space on the destination device.

You can cancel the transfer by tapping on the user / device name in the Airdrop window. I would perhaps set to Keep Original and try the transfer again before you go to sleep.

It still says "converting" and it has been like 45 minutes now.

Maybe something is wrong and it's not really converting?

Yeah, I switched my iPhone back to "Keep Originals"
