I owned Series 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9 and Ultra 2, and I never experienced a single issue. Today, after updating to 11.2, my wake up didn’t goes off (it was displayed on the screen, but it didn’t vibrate or ring) 🤔
Weird issue. I restarted it and hopefully this solved the problem (tried with an additional wake up). I’ll check tomorrow morning.

My alarms do sound off still on my Apple Watch. ⌚️ I even have like 5-6 alarms in the morning.

I checked this morning and worked properly. So it probably was just a glitch after automatic update overnight. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Wait so you charged your Apple Watch overnight? I usually do it before bed or when I finish working out, I also update watchOS during these times. I sleep track with my Watch so it does not update overnight.

I usually don’t, but had to do that night (I retuned home very late and battery was at 30% after two days)
No wonder… do you wear your Apple Watch Ultra 2 primarily? Seems like you did the long haul to get the most out of the 36 hour battery life.

I usually charge after a long run as well but if I got home late due to travel or long stretches of traffic I charge after I settled in and meditated for a bit and while I charge it go for a quick shower and once the Watch is fully charged go to bed and sleep track with it.

I usually charge it every evening before sleeping, up to 75%, wearing it during the night for sleep tracking and wake up. But sometimes for my job I spend two days out and I drain it down to 20% (starting from 100%)

The Apple Watch Ultra does take longer than a regular Apple Watch to fast charge, so that’s why you only charge it to this amount even on a tight schedule. Had you also been carrying a power bank or a spare charging cable for the Apple Watch?

Where do you get the 72hr battery life from?
Apples spec is 36hrs, some get that, some get more, all depends on usage pattern.

Oops 😅 accidentally wrote that wrong, that’s if y’all use low power mode 24/7 hours or turn off always on display. I edited it out already. Mb

Nope, I’m stopping at 75% on purpose, in order to save its life. 75% is more than enough to make one day and have it above 20% before charging again

Optimized charge limit or battery charging?
  • Charge Limit Feature: Apple Watch lacks the charge limit feature found on iPhone 15 and 16 models.
  • Charging Habits: I charge it to 80-90% for short activities and to full charge for longer activities like sleep tracking, flights, long days of work and other all day to night out trips. As an Apple Watch Ultra user, full charge is also best for off grid outdoor activities.

Optimized charge stops it at 75%, so I usually take it off at that level

Got it, optimized battery charging is usually around this limit as well. I also cap my iPhone to charge to 95% or lower to 80-ish if I dock it for StandBy and I am hanging out in my room.
