well until I read Shard's post I was going to make a comment about how it was cooling off here and spent most of the day in the 40's.... I don't really think I can bring myself to anymore though....

HOW do you survive??? I can't even imagine weather that cold and I've been going to snowy areas for skiing and such pretty much since I was born.

You just put on your hat, gloves, scarf, parka, Sorel's and get on with it. Everyone owns long underwear. Put that on too. You just limit the time that you're outside, and you'll be fine.

/edit: It's currently -19F in central Minnesota.

I'de upload a pic of my widget, but photobucket doesn't seem to want to let me upload right now. Anyway it was 70+ here in VA on Fri, and the low is susposed to be 20 on Sat night with some snow. Crazy weather I tell ya....

Here in Madison, WI it's a delightful -10F at 10:30 AM... with a wind chill of -24. Brrr, I'm glad I don't have to go anywhere today if I don't want to.

But at least it's sunny!

You get used to it - it makes you a tougher person - no wimps living here, that's for sure... :p ;) :D

You bundle up when you have to go outside, and keep warm in a variety of ways when you need to...

It's honestly not that bad - I don't mind the cold. As I said earlier in the thread, I'd rather have cold winters than hurricanes, tsunamis, tornados, earthquakes, etc. As long as you're smart and act accordingly with the temperature, it's not that big of a deal.

I went up in the Denver mountains this morning to do some gambling. When I got there, 8500 ft. altitude, the car thermometer said it was -17. I was, however, quite hot and walked away with $630 of their money. (pretty awesome considering they only have $5 blackjack tables)
