They're only releasing the Android L SDK this Friday, not the factory images (they are releasing another preview image though)

I thought I read that the fact pry images were being released on Friday, not just the SDK update?

Edit: just checked on this. So dev preview final build on Friday then factory images when the Nexus 6/9 release to public.

Nexus or meant for developers BUT they sell to consumers.. I don't think so. They should get there stuff In order, I mean it's been years since Android was released. It's not a baby OS anymore. Needs to step up. Can't have roll outs for an OS upgrade.
I agree. I wish Google would roll out the updates in one push, instead of in parsed roll outs for OTA's. But, like I said, anyone can download the factory image as soon as Google releases it (for Nexus devices). OEM and carrier update holdups is a whole different ball of wax though.

Not the only thing.. Redesign, check. Physics in OS, check. New color palette that emphasis color, check. Shortcuts in a control center esque style, check (though it's been on non android phones so, meh). Battery improvements, check (fricken FINALLY). Network handoff, check. Etc, Etc. Again don't wanna make a list... Too late >_>
Um, the redesign and color alterations you speak of has been evolving in Android long before iOS7 went to flat icons. Transitions I agree with you on.

Shortcuts in control center? Android doesn't utilize a control center. Everything is within the Notification Center and Android has been doing that long before Apple even bothered to grace iOS with a notification center.

Battery improvements is not some exclusive to Apple? But the battery saving feature you are likely mentioning is not copied from iOS, but from Samsung.

Network handoff? Can't be copied if it doesn't exist yet on OSX. Yosemite isn't out yet. ;)

Network handoff != handoff in iOS 8/Yosemite. It's the way a wifi network can be dropped and a cell network can be picked up without data loss.

Battery improvements are more of the project Volta I've heard about. Figured they finally did system omptimizations but I guess it's just dim screen, less color, less apps. Meh

I did say control center like. And I did say android had it in the form of others.

Double tap to wake coming in Lollipop!! I'm not dreaming right? It says it there!

Oh please please let it come to all devices that update to L like my SGS5!
YES! Finally!

It is a simple feature I always wanted since LG introduced their KnockOn. My M7's power button can continue to live on! HTC didn't give M7 owners that feature in Sense 6 and I'm still stuck on Sense 5 anyway...

This double tap to wake, Material Design, and the security features is what I'm looking forward to the most. And Android finally got to the number 5.0. From my experiences of Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, and KitKat, every upgrade was worth it. KitKat is my favorite like the previous ones before it but Lollipop may just be the biggest leap forward since Ice Cream Sandwich. Hated GB. Loved ICS. Loved JB more. Loved KK even more because of RAM usage and battery life. And the love gets stronger and stronger after every upgrade. The love continues with Lollipop.

A Lollipop which Google doesn't suck.

At least if 5.0 was called "Lifesavers" (if they struck a marketing deal a la KitKat), they could use the "Android is a lifesaver" thing.

Since 5.0 is a lollipop, Android just sucks. lol

Google really lamed out on this one.
