I want more control over the content that is on my ipad. I want to be able to delete songs or albums off my ipad with out syncing with itunes. If i save a photo from the web i want the option to move the photo into a diffreant album with out using itunes. Also i want to be able to delete any photo or album with out haveing to go to itunes. Also apple could we get some real privacy on the ipad. I mean we can't even put a password on or email accounts.

Oh oh. You criticized the iPad. You are in for it now!!! ;)

(And for the record, I agree with you 100%!!!) I think iTunes is the spawn of the devil, worst software since ActiveSync (and THAT was baaaaaaaaad!)

Its a small matter really...do not think of such things

This is a sarcasm, right?

The OP is pointing out things that make an ipad just a "big ipod touch." The device cannot live on its own away from the itunes acct on some other device.

The cheesy netbooks nowadays, as bad as they are in many aspects, are fully independent computing devices.

So in a way, ipad is like a fully grown individual, able to accomplish all tasks proficiently in school / work, but emotionally attached to parents.

A netbook is the opposite. A slacker, cannot do anything adequately, but at least is able to take care of itself and be on its own feet.

Totally agree about the password. As bad as it sounds, I delete my email accounts off the iPad everytime I leave home without it.

User accounts would be nice but I guess would run into space problems with diff users.

Never understood how you can set restrictions on Safari and other programs but NOT email!! Such a simple fix and option to give us people who leave iPads around the home for other people to use

i wish it didn't kick me out of the app store when i download or update an app. i'd like it to download the same way songs do in iTunes.app

i've had the same annoyance with my iPhone for ages.

I concur!

I feel a few of these complaints should and probably will be fixed with os 4.0, but I also feel some of these things are silly (moving photos around, I mean, you put it in the album it's in for a reason, why would you want to change it on a portable platform?) The ability to micro manage without iTunes may never happen, although I would love for it to. I would also love wireless syncing/background syncing. I want to play fieldrunners while upoading my 23gb's of music dammit!

all in all though, I am more than thrilled with my iPad. Can't wait for 4.0, I guess it'll just bring a whole new batch of user complaints. (not to say yours aren't valid, I am poking at the people who honestly think Mr. Jobs will put flash on a mobile platform...)

Now that sir is a STUPID annoyance!!!!! Probably hurting downloads for Apple as sometimes I just cant be bothered going back in again (yes i am lazy)

Two biggest items on my wish list are: privacy options on the pad (ability to password picture folders, some videos, email accounts). The second is the simple ability to delete photos from the iPad. I can delete videos, why can't I delete photos?

Please, please address this issue Apple. We don't want our little ones deleting our important emails!

I think these problems could all be solved with simple software fixes. Yet, I think Apple is purposefully crippling certain aspects of the iPad, so you will still need to have a real computer to hook it up to. I think they don't, at least at this time, want to totally make the iPad fully independent from a computer, because it would cannibalize their Mac sales.

Yep. It's gimped purposely. They want the iPad to have a broken leg so you have to use the bus to get around.

Most people are not using the iPad as their main email device. Just keep the emails on the server after downloading to the iPad.

What do you mean you cant delete photos from the iPad? I can select the ones I want deleted straight from the iPad.

Dont forget about the lack of bluetooth headset profile for VOIP apps. That is the worst offender in my book

Not if you put them on the iPad using a sync from iTunes.

I synced all of my photos from iTunes and can go in a select the ones to delete straight on the iPad.

I take that back. It shows the delete button but that doesn't work.

Perhaps it is a trade off. In other words, you know how the images are 'optimized' before being transferred. They are managed in a db, as one, and that management is for the purpose of speed and visual appeal.

Have we not learned anything with the power to tweak an OS. That when that power is given bugs, patches, slowness etc, is introduced to the OS. I'm not saying this is even true with the regards to delete an image, however, the iPad is a consumption device, mainly, and it is good at that. If the ability to add various features come in, I just want to make sure it doesn't impede my ability to be a blazingly fast consumption device.

I also feel some of these things are silly (moving photos around, I mean, you put it in the album it's in for a reason...)

When you save an image off the web to your iPad, you don't get to choose what folder it goes into. It automatically gets put into the "saved photos" folder. There's no way to move it to another folder on your iPad without downloading it to your computer, moving it to a different folder on your computer, and then syncing it back to the iPad. Which is kind of ridiculous.

It really is amazing that you can't password-protect your email. This must the the only email client in the world that forces you to cache the password with no option to authenticate the user when they open the app. Its kind of a pain because I like letting friends and coworkers play around with this thing, but I don't like letting them read my email.

I totally agree with akk of the OPs comments. The limitations are annoying. Much more so than they are on the iPhone.

I want it to work just like it does on the iPhone. I'd be so annoyed if I had to enter a password in every time I opened Mail. Now, having said that - I don't see what harm there is in adding a preference in Mail to add a PW upon opening, but I hope Apple will never make that the default. No one uses my iPad besides me.
