iPad Pro It's been a Year Any Tablet in the Market faster than the iPad Pro ?

I've seen and responded to so many threads i.e. Who has replaced their laptops with the iPad Pro and I have Period. Why.? Because it does everything faster than a laptop.

- web browsing
- YouTube
- reading
- shopping
- drawing
- watching movies
- Social Media

So all this got me thinking, I never ever used a Laptop to watch movies in bed or shop online. But I do with my 9.7" Pro, and all this time has passed and is there any Tablet on the market that's faster than an iPad Pro?

P.S. I'll make this easy do not include Microsoft Surface Tablets at 13" Inches at 12 and 13" inches their size make them unwieldy to use with one hand or casually laying down.

I have never purchased Apple care on any device. But I would love the Apple keyboard. I really do wish to have iPads support a Magic Mouse. It would be nice during times that you really don't want smudge marks covering the screen.

I definitely understand not wanting to smudge the screen, sadly iOS is not designed at all for a mouse so Apple would never add support as its made to touch.
 
There's one tablet that comes to mind. However this tablet didn't see much use, as it suffered wifi and touch problems, also you had to order it online, since the brick and mortar stores never carried it. That is the "Google Pixel C" with the "nVidia Tegra X1" SOC. I think it was the only tablet that SOC beast was put into. It was more, or less a Google engineers play toy they use when working on their next gen Android OS. If anything could get close to the A10, then the Tegra X1/2 would be very close IMO. The X1 was so good they where putting the soc in high end luxury cars and suvs to power their entertainment and nav systems.

Umm, no. Couldn't beat the A9X and there are others that are closer to A9X in performance.

As for being used in luxury cars and SUVs, I don't think they use fancy chipsets in the first place. The Tegra X1 is likely the highest end SoC they've used.
 
I'd say the only thing in tablet form that beats it is the i7 sp4. But once you get past the m3 processor, it's a different category of computer in the same form factor.

Use the Pencil?

I've been learning keyboard shortcuts -- they can replace about 50% - 70% of screen taps, depending on the app being used. (You can discover them by holding down the Command key in apps that support them).

I don't use the pencil. My son is a natural artist and I would like to get him the iPad Pro 9.7 and a pencil to go with it.
I understand that the pencil is a good tool for drawing but I haven't read any posts on the other benifits. Perhaps you could enlighten me?

You did not want smudge marks on the screen. The pencil offers a solution.

Sorry but I will include the Surface Pro 4. I have the i7 quad core version and it puts my Ipad to shame when running full programs like premiere pro or Avid or other stuff the ipad just can't handle. As far as one handed operation goes, well I can't operate my ipad with one hand either. Looking forward to the new Surface Pro 5 coming out soon.

Don't underestimate the iPad, it can handle a lot but developers aren't putting stuff onto the iPad, it's like Pro but the way Apple markets it makes it so basic and elementary, less "Pro" in your since more in College student, or graphic designer, or I guess architect. It's more creative Pro less technical multimedia pro

Um...What are you doing with the other hand laying down in bed?!....Wait....don't answer that.

There are many windows tablets that are significantly faster than the iPad Pro. I find the Pro to be slow for HD image processing. Buts it's great for content consumption or sketching.

I have a Wacom mobile studio Pro tablet. It's super fast, i7 CPU, quadro gpu, 16 gb ram. I've even seen quad core tablets, like the Sony vio z canvas. These run circles around my iPad Pro. They have some drawbacks though. A little bit shorter battery life and they run warmer than the iPad.

I can't wait to try the Samsung galaxy book 12, think they will have a 10 inch also. Full windows OS, and Wacom Emr pen. For me this could completely replace my iPad Pro. I've never liked the Apple Pencil or iOS much. iPad Pro 12.9 owner since launch, but iOS just sucks for my productivity work. Wacom emr is my favorite pen tech, and it never needs to be charged.
 
The tablet competition for Apple is pretty pathetic. There are no real Android flagship tablets I would consider over the iPad including the new Samsung S3. Microsoft Surface could be considered but it's just a PC in tablet form. Apple has the best app ecosystem for this format so that in itself is the reason to stick to iPad.
The only competition Apple has is Apple. They got to concentrate on a different design to get people to replace their current iPad's. I've seen little talk about the home button disappearing on the iPad in favor of embedded finger print reader in the screen or force touch. I think it's coming after we get the redesigned iPhone. I would also like to see a smaller redesigned Apple Pencil that stores within the tablet and made standard across the board. Make the current Apple Pencil an alternative for $50 to $100.

As long as the iPad Pro is still tied down to the same app size limit as the iPhone 5s, it'll never be fully utilized.

When Microsoft releases their first version of a surface on an Arm processor. The iPad will be in real trouble, so I'm hoping Apple starts maturing the iPad software in its own fork.

As said previously, once the next surface device runs on arm, there will be no reason to not compare a surface to an iPad Pro.

The UWP store is coming along, and is not near as vital on the SP4 due to having a file system; however, the ecosystem pairing with an iPhone and iMessage is great.

I think Apple really needs a serious competitor for this to light a fire under them. It will only benefit Apple users.

You mean like the Surface RT and Surface 2, released in 2012 and 2013?? I'm pretty sure those were the devices that caused microsoft to make a $1B Write off. I'm not sure ARM on surface will be their savior.

You realize that running x86 apps on arm and running a RT apps on arm are two very different things.

Read up on it a bit more and come back with a proper debate.
