For all we know,at WWDC Apple might be preachIng all the wonderful Pro line applications that can now be made in iOS 11 to really kick the iPad into replacing professional applications ;)

The tablet competition for Apple is pretty pathetic. There are no real Android flagship tablets I would consider over the iPad including the new Samsung S3. Microsoft Surface could be considered but it's just a PC in tablet form. Apple has the best app ecosystem for this format so that in itself is the reason to stick to iPad.
The only competition Apple has is Apple. They got to concentrate on a different design to get people to replace their current iPad's. I've seen little talk about the home button disappearing on the iPad in favor of embedded finger print reader in the screen or force touch. I think it's coming after we get the redesigned iPhone. I would also like to see a smaller redesigned Apple Pencil that stores within the tablet and made standard across the board. Make the current Apple Pencil an alternative for $50 to $100.

The Samsung galaxy tab s3 is better than any Apple tablet before the new ones announced this week. Even than I'm actually debating if I should cancel my iPad Pro 10.5 for a S3 considering its $499 atm and has a pen included. I would save over $500 doing this considering I've already spent $927 on the 10.5 ipad pro with 256gb and Apple care. Probably will keep the iPad considering I do own a S2 9.7 and happy with it for the most part.

I definitely understand not wanting to smudge the screen, sadly iOS is not designed at all for a mouse so Apple would never add support as its made to touch.

You can on Android. Considering they are similar if Apple really wanted to add mouse support I doubt they couldn't make it happen.

I have never purchased Apple care on any device. But I would love the Apple keyboard. I really do wish to have iPads support a Magic Mouse. It would be nice during times that you really don't want smudge marks covering the screen.

I have a Mac mini as my media serever at home. You can use Jump Desktop VNC and a swift point GT mouse to remote into a mac and use your ipad like its running OSX. I have completely stopped using my MacBook as a result.

You can also use a swift point to remote into a windows box or mac with Splashtop and play games full screen if that is your thing.

Sorry but I will include the Surface Pro 4. I have the i7 quad core version and it puts my Ipad to shame when running full programs like premiere pro or Avid or other stuff the ipad just can't handle. As far as one handed operation goes, well I can't operate my ipad with one hand either. Looking forward to the new Surface Pro 5 coming out soon.

There is no quad core surface pro 4.
