iPod is dead, the iphone and ipad eats their share. Like steve jobs said, If you don't cannibalize yourself, someone else will.
and now that apple has lowered the price on the ipad mini, maybe lots of people would see no point in an ipod.
As small as the iPads get, I still can not see strapping one to my arm and going running.
I don't think there is any way that could be made to not look like a punchline...

Unfortunately, that didn't happen. RIP iPod.
That doesn't mean that it's dead.
Apple could some day just slip a 128G Touch into the line-up, and unless they said something, our someone looked, they might never know it.
They have a history of doing 'sneak upgrades', and on such a lessor product, I'd actually expect that kind of update rather than a ticker-tape parade...
I honestly think there are reasons for Apple to keep the Touch and Nano around. Killing the shuffle wouldn't be a heart breaker for me.
They killed 'The Stick' when it showed a lot of potential. I still have two, and hope they keep working, but I have grown attached to the Nano and my Touch due to the Bluetooth capability irradiating my brain box with my tragically sub-par Motorola headphones that are 'better than nothing - but barely'...

I'm still scratching my head wondering what that tag line was all about.
Mac Mini update?
It's all I got...
Ohh, an obscure reference to three years post-Steve? Hmm. Still got nothing...
