What would they be doing all day otherwise? That’s literally their only job.
As i mention before, our job developer not just to code in front computer every 24 x7x356 .. If apple more stricter and stricter dilllusional it only bring the death like windows mobile days..

The basic rule of software outside apple : Ain't broken don't fix it.
The rule inside apple : Broken , you need to buy new computer, laptop and so on..

** Remember most app just for showoff purpose not for real thing unless been backup from big major company.

First, it's not "updating the resolution."

Second, it depends on the app. There is no magical switch that when flipped makes the app work on every device. It could actually be a pretty extensive project, and if it's an app that brings in little revenue there is no incentive to spend the time or money.

And finally if you want the answer, email the developer and ask.

Because the apps aren't fully optimized for 1% of all iOS devices in use? Get over it. Your life will go on fine for the next few weeks until the apps for your $1,500 phone are updated.

Incorrect. Apps have to be built with the iOS 12 SDK. That is not the same thing as making changes to an app so that the UI is optimized for a particular phone (e.g., removing the black bars up top near the notch).
Like I said IF the app already has been updated for the X the changes needed for XS Max support are minimal.

Optimize your UI.
If you’ve already updated your app for iPhone X, simply build your app with the iOS 12 SDK and test in Simulator, included with Xcode 10, to make sure it looks great on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR.
