First, Twitter was going to do layoffs regardless of Elon buying them. Google it. It is HIS company, and if people think they can sit around and do nothing and put in 2 or 3 hours a day of work (my friend worked there), then I would have an issue too. And even if he asked them to work "hard" and be "dedicated" and "committed," HE WAS GOING TO PAY THEM FOR THE HOURS AND THE OVERTIME! You act like he is running a sweatshop.

I used to like Elon, but now I can’t really say that. I just don’t understand why people think he’s some savior who can and will do absolutely everything to “save the world”

Especially among more conservative circles, I’ve noticed people view him as a Godsend, as they did Trump, and as they are now doing to Kanye and his “presidential endeavor” lol

I guess it’s all apart of the “cult” mentality — not in a bad way — and he’s their leader. Apple has it (I admit, I’m fully in it!), Trump, Elon, etc

A lot of people love to “escape” to something more important, something bigger than themselves, a world where anything is possible in not so distant future.

And anyone who can’t see this future and says we need to care about today is a naysayer and an outsider who’s mind is too small to grasp the ginormous picture.

Elon gives you that ant any scale you like.

There’s always something new around the corner and whatever you’re waiting for can be done today or in about two years or so.

Always new, anyways better, cheaper, faster, greener, and all very easy to do right here, right now! 🚀🤩

You just gotta invest or, at the very least, go spread the word about it in the socials.

Does Elon deliver on any of many products he promises? No, barely any of them.

Are projects like Neuralink, Tesla Robotaxi, FSD, and Hyperloop most likely in forever limbo as current tech is nowhere near a level to make these things real?

After several years of waiting on these “ready in about two years” products, the most sensible conclusion is that most of what Elon proposes are “investor scams” that he has no good reason to believe can actually work.

But he promises the products anyway to get capital for another batch of future projects.

He only needs one or two of them to materialize to something tangible and then he’s on to the next batch of projects.

He’ll do this perpetually as long as enough invest in his next lineup of promises projects.

Too bad if you’re waiting for a Cybertruck or thought your Tesla would be making you rich working for you as a Robotaxi, because you’re most likely never getting either. Or, at best, you will get them in a few years but they’ll be nothing like the uncompromising futurist fantasy that Elon dreamed up years ago.

Remember that Democrats win the popular vote and that’s the only vote that matters in sales.

Out of the remaining ~40% republicans, what amount would be ready to give up their iPhone or Samsung to support Elon’s fight against Apple… 5%? 10% at best?

And then there is the reality of making his own OS for the Tesla Phone which would take years to come even close to the function and compatibility of iOS and Android.

And finally, who would make apps for such a small system used by a handful of republicans?

My take on this, is the the world needs competition to the popular iphone and Android. Microsoft tried but the windows phones fell flat. Apple did such a great job with the iphone, they are getting pokes from regulatory agencies. A Tesla phone would have many fans and give I believe, give the iphone and android a run for their money.
