Look at those colours pop on the 12.9... wow!
As someone who had both side by side for a bit while deciding which to keep, I'll say the difference is not really that big like it appears in the pic there. There is a difference but really only in dark scenes and while in a dimly lit room. Otherwise the colors "pop" basically as much on the 11. Swap backgrounds and switch locations in the pic with the 12.9 and you would have seen it differently.

I've literally never seen anyone fighting over screen size, let alone 'endlessly'.

Here's the epic thread about the two sizes if anyone hasn't seen it:

The best size is the one you like to use. And will use. Other opinions on what is right for you are irrelevant.
Completely agree. I like the idea of a larger screen but I know I wouldn’t use it as much because of its size and I have a MacBook so if I need larger screen to do something I just bust that out.

I'm on team both (2018), too. I could get away with just the 12.9 now, because I travel a lot less and now have a Mac mini, but for a couple years, I was iPad-only for work and pleasure (and a bit of a digital nomad, working from all over the world), and I needed both. Since I already have both and enjoy them, there's no reason to sell the 11.

In a van down by the river
This is why I'm waiting on a less bezel-y iPad Mini. I've had the original 12.9" Pro (HUGE), 9.7 Pro, then 11" Pro. I love the 11" Pro, but drawing more, I'm going to size back up to the 12.9" again. For travel, though, I'd love an iPad Mini to take along that can use a Pencil, but the bezels just look so dated to me at this point. Fingers crossed :)
If Apple revamps the iPad mini, I will grab one for sure.

Hear hear. Enough talk about X and Y. How about Z. I’m not a “Thin as possible” freaknit but I love the thickness and weight of my iPad Air 3. Any thicker/heavier and it BETTER be worth it. :)

Well here I was feeling guilty for buying a new iPad Pro AND an M1 iMac on the same day. ;-p

Seriously though, I was close to doing what you did, so I’d have something bigger for at the desk. Of course, ultimately I did get something bigger for the desk - just decided for the money I could benefit from some things a desktop can offer that I can’t do as easily with an iPad.

I think if you can justify it, why the heck not?

I'll drink to that...

I have the 12.9, and it seems 'too big'. Oops... But I went from a Mini to The Biggest One They Make. Duh, some might say, and I'm hoping I can figure out how to use it enough to make it worth buying it. (Well, and finding my Pencil could help)

But, get 'both'? Oh, you said 'iPad Pro'. I'd think that to do yourself good, you need to buy at least the 12.9, and the Mini. You get the full spectrum, 'small' to 'really HUGE'. Just watch for dead pixels on that big guy, as that's the first one that I have ever encountered one in/on/with.

You did it in a much smarter way. I basically have two of the same exact thing, only varying by a couple inches hah.

I've got the 3 size classes and I never use the mini. ?‍♀️

To me, the 10/11" & 12.9" are just more useful.

Doesn't really bother me if they're very similar. I know I would use both iPads way, way, way more than an iMac.
