For me 12.5.3 works but only when uploading/converting from ALAC files to AAC before uploading to the iCloud library if not able to match. As soon as mp3 upload - it crashes.

There has been an update of iTunes rolled out. The new version currently available is 12.5.3.17 , the version that was having the problem with match was 12.5.3.16.

Has anybody been brave enough to try it out, and does it work?

the 12.5.3. is a disaster for me. First like many others crashes very often then the matching process is completely broken. The matching was always sketchy (I can rip a recent cd and have some songs matched but few other uploaded) but now nothing matches. I riped few cds that I did before and were matched correctly now for 100 songs from 5 recent cd I got 0 matches. Anybody have similar issue?

I tried that and it doesn't crash however it doesn't match any song. Every song i import to iTunes gets status uploaded and not matched. I rolled back to 12.5.2 and the same songs now match correctly.

I concur with this.

I took the plunge and upgraded to 12.5.3.17. Imported 4 AAC format songs into my library. iTunes attempted a match, it didn't crash but one song reported back 'error' and the other three did not match. I rolled back to 12.5.2.35 and imported the same four songs into my library, they matched successfully.

So it seems iTunes Match in 12.5.3.17 is broken, but at least it doesn't cause an iTunes crash.

OT. If anybody is looking for a great little audio format converter that is simple to use I highly recommend MediaHuman Audio Converter.

EDIT: Just got off the phone from Apple support, it's a known problem and the engineering team are working on it. The advisor couldn't tell me if it's a bug in the iTunes app itself or a problem with their Match services. So I don't know if and when it's fixed they will roll out an iTunes update or it will be a silent fix on their end.

I'm having the same issue. All the music I've added the last couple of weeks have uploaded instead of matched. I'm on the latest version of iTunes, 12.5.3.17. Most if not all of the music I've added should have matched. I'm pretty sure it's an iTunes problem because it started with this version. Hopefully Apple will issue a fix soon.

Same issue here, no matched songs anymore, only uploads. Indeed after iTunes version 12.5.3.17 update. A fix would be great because we pay for iTunes Match....

Edit:
Today no connection to iCloud Music library (see picture, in dutch language..)

Same issue -- nothing matching, only uploading. Going back to 12.5.2 seems to have fixed it for now.

Hmmm... So I decided to try updating to 12.5.3.17 today. Still getting errors and uploads.

Did anyone apart from the poster above get their matches to work? I'm rolling back to 12.5.2 again.

I've been following this thread with interest. It saved me when the first 12.5.3 update rendered iTunes inoperable. So many thanks for the advice about rolling back.

Feeling optimistic I upgraded to 12.5.3.17 and for a few days it was successfully matching tracks I was adding. But two days ago it stopped matching and has started just uploading. And yes I've verified this with previously matched ripped CDs. Given it's stable and not crashing I'm going to hang in for a few more days to see whether matching resumes. But I reiterate that it did initially match.

Heaven only knows what's going on.

Edited to add:
Well after a couple more days with 12.5.3.17 no matching, so I rolled back to 12.5.2.35 (Mac OS) and re-added the tracks that had only uploaded and voila they've all matched.

12.5.4 has been released today. Anyone tried to upgrade and see if the matching bug is fixed? I'm still using 12.5.2 and unless this works no point in upgrading.

I'm going to try it in a few hours, so if you can hang on until then I can let you know.

EDIT: I can tell you that 12.5.4 has worked for me. I'm wary that an earlier poster said 12.5.3.17 was matching for a while and then stopped. But as of right now it appears okay. Post back with your own experiences.

I have done quite a lot of matching today and haven't encountered any problems, so it looks like it's all fixed.
