When I get info, under Details it shows track x of y, clicking on either produces an edit box where I can change the numbers...

You are correct! Sheesh, it seems so obvious now… I was trying to click on the field instead of the numbers, themselves. Thank you!

Transfer Apps

Any way to transfer updated apps from your phone to the computer? I know previously we could right click the device and click transfer apps, but that options doesn't seem to exist anymore.

iTunes 11 and previous, you could highlight multiple tracks, or an album, get info and then change the album artwork by copying and pasting an image in to the square box.

Now, there's no artwork option on multiple items, unless I'm missing something.

You can edit the tracks individually, so you have to paste the same image multiple times, such fun

Anyone able to point me in the right direction, or is this some genius removal idea.

Click on Transfer Purchases.

Not sure if this is the right topic, but can I use Yosemite and iTunes with my iPhone? I can access my files from the Mavericks partition so it seems I would only have to switch for iTunes use. Is it save to use it? (I'm also getting a new iPhone today so it would be easy to use Yosemite instead of Mavericks.)

Please tell me iTunes 12 is better than the last four attempts at an iTunes release. This app has suffered horrible feature creep, software bloat and just general incapability to do what it should over the years and seeing every release get progressively worse is very frustrating.

It's worse. It's incredibly slow, the general design/structuring of the interface is less functional, and the library search function is as hopeless as in the last version. To name a few examples.

.............. huh. Well, I like this one far better than the few previous, a lot of the bugs are gone, and yes it is "snappier" for me. One main complaint: When I open up Info on a whole album and want to change or add art, double clicking the frame no longer opens a Finder window, I have to already have a Finder window open and then drag and drop the picture. The drag and drop isn't necessary and takes away from ease of use. Is this the same on all releases or is this a bug and it's supposed to open Finder for me? I'm on public beta.

iTunes is messing up for me...when I add a new album to a pre-existing artist, it creates an entire new artist under the same exact name and settings and does not group the album with the pre-existing artist.

Idk if that makes sense to anyone, but it is extremely annoying, especially since I can't move the album at all within iTunes and place it where I want it. Wtf

I am running into the exact same issue. has anybody figured out a fix to this issue? I have tried everything to add artwork to a whole album but it just doesnt seem to work!!! Has this been confirmed as a permanant change or just a bug?!?!?

Dealbreaker for me, reverted back to Mavericks. If it stays as is in the launch of 10.10 then I'll probably switch to using Swinsian as my music player/manager.

Is this new from previous beta that it shows everything including the sidebare under playlist and the artist list as well?

I could probably be completely missing the point so I apologise if I am, but you can drag artwork into the top of the Get Info pane? It's not as easy as having the artwork tab, but the functionality is still there.

You are correct but the album artwork does not "stick" if you are trying to edit the entire album's artwork. it looks like it does but then when you close the window the album artwork has not taken affect. I have to assume it is just a bug because it doesnot make sense to have the option and then it doesnt work!?!?!?

The sync option is still disastrous.

Why will it still randomly say that I exceed my iPhone's data by 53 GB, when in fact I've always had 4 GB free on my phone ?
Why is it stuck at step 1, or step 5 (waiting to apply changes), and I have to plug it in and out like 10 times before it actually does anything ?
Cherry on top, WiFi sync is an utopia, wired sync is already so slow and buggy that you can't even think of going WiFi.

Gosh, since 2006 I've owned 6 Macs, 3 iOS products, a couple of versions of iTunes, and always had a problem with iTunes' sync. At this point they should get these guys fired for not fixing stuff since 2007.

Yes, because, CLEARLY, it couldn't be something wrong at your end, that's been inherited as you migrated your iTunes library from mac to mac....

I've had few problems with syncing in iTunes (though no problems under iTunes 12), but then I've only needed to own 2 Macs in the last 7 years and an iPhone for 2.8 years.

Now, the green button on the full pane iTunes sends it to full display mode.
Before it made more sense, the green button toggled back and forth between mini player and larger window, yellow sent it to the tool tray, and red killed it. Now I have to use a drop down menu to launch the mini player!!

It's annoying enough to the point I may revert to iTunes 10.7 once Yosemite alpha is released.

Presuming my music won't get lost or revert to DRM.

Grateful if you would explain to me how I could do that. I can't revert to iTunes 10 under Mavericks. I' m going to stay on Mavericks ( until this crappy flat look goes away) but I hate iTunes 11 almost as much as the horrible iBooks (talking Mavericks here).

I've owned several Macs, iPods, iPads and iPhones starting 2001 and I've never had major issues with iTunes sync. You know PsykX, I'm beginning to wonder if you're even capable of saying something positive around here. All I see is one post after another where you rant about whatever move Apple makes not suiting you perfectly. At this point I have no idea why you even own Apple products.

Like matreya is suggesting: Start fresh by creating a new iTunes Library and import all your songs.

No matter how many problems I have with them, I own Apple products because they're still the best in the world. I'm done with Windows (except at the job), and will never go Linux. Over the top, I hate Android to death.

I'm just saddened that the best company in the world cannot fix all these sync issues, I'm faaaaaaaaar from being the only one with random sync issues every now and then, and I'm not sure how re-building the XML file of my library will help anything, and yes I have tried formatting my iPhone and configuring it in iTunes from scratch.

If your library went corrupt it can cause all kinds of unexpected behaviour. If you're unwilling to make a new one and import your files then so be it. Also what you're saying right now about having sync issues "every now and then" is a very different story from before when you claimed you "always had a problem with iTunes' sync".
