Has anyone realized that the new logo is just a ripoff of the Windows Vista and Windows 7 Start Button? Nothing wrong with that just thought it was funny

I think they could have been a bit more creative looks to basic, guess it does the job thou.

Does anyone have the new iTunes 10 icon to share. I swapped out the old iTunes icon for a custom one a while back. When I installed iTunes 10 the custom icon stayed and I am without the new one.

rumor: new iTunes logo hints at bluray playback!*

*rumor is based on my personal observation that the blue circle suspiciously could work to look like a bluray disc

I think the new iTunes icon is an improvement over the old one. It maybe could have been even better, but IMO it looks nicer.

I haven't had a CD player in my car for about 2 years :D

That said, I'll keep buying CD's untill the iTunes Store sells ALAC :(

I agree, that's gonna be the day I say goodbye to CD. My digital music is fully lossless, no more cds around but we need a good digital shop too and iTunes IS that shop, but not lossless yet. Give it 2-3 years and they'll make the jump, surely.

agreed

The new logo is hideous.

Agreed - definitely not for me, like someone else says it is very windows orientated, and I can't help but feel it is another example of how mainstream mac is becoming, not that there is anything wrong with that per se, but there is something, and I can't put my finger on what it is, about the direction apple are heading

Not really a fan of the logo... I will probably design something better for it in my free time between classes today.

In the big version, the logo is ... well ... it's ok .... But in the small version when you put it in the dock .... well .... ugly ...

Fugly!

This new logo is terrible. Looks like something a junior designer or student would have done - take it from a pro. And it doesn't fit the Apple style one bit. Looks odd in the dock among other icons.

If you look at most of Apple's other logos, they are all showing something real in a digital way - for example, iPhoto has a camera in it, Calendar is a calendar, Mail is a stamp... then there's iTunes which is just a cartoon logo with no real world image (if you get what I mean!), and so it looks more basic, and it stands out, not necessarily in a good way - it seems to show maybe a different path Apple may be taking with design?

I'm not a huge fan of it, but I'm sure it will grow on me. It is nice to have a bit of a change. Maybe 10.7 will finally finally finally see a seriously improved Finder and then it could get a new icon too.

But I use Candybar anyway, and there are a lot of great icon sets out there, so if you don't like it, change it up. It is a Mac after all. ;)

I agree. I like it when the Mac wasn't as popular; it kept the amount of bug discoveries down and the viruses as well; as Macs become more popular it's only going to get worse :(
