still nothing. There is a cloud next to the music tab and it seems to be moving. Do I need to wait till that finishes?

edit: there seems to be a bug on Match with unsupported files, my progress on step 3 gets stuck. i had to delete all the "error" and "not supported" files from itunes and then Match finally uploaded the remaining "waiting" songs just fine. however the album cover bug still remains -.-

When I open iTunes it tells me to sign out and sign back in. I have already uploaded to the cloud (twice) and most of my library is on my devices, but not showing as cloud in iTunes. I did the sign out/in thing once already and don't want to do it again. Had to re-up the whole library. Also is telling me Match is synched to a different computer, but its not.

Looks as if at least one of these buggy things is working better now: I just clicked "update iTunes Match" and it appears to have uploaded (but not matched) all my 'silent' tracks from albums.

I'm in the +100000 camp that is very frustrated to see 9/10 or 7/13 tracks from the SAME rip being matched while the rest are uploaded. WHY APPLE? WHY?!

I went ahead and turned match off on my iPad for the time being. Hopefully someone will post in here when they fix the smart playlist bug.

I am having an issue on my iPhone where some songs will not play using iTunes Match. For instance, "Hey Jude" will not play on my playlist. It causes my entire music app to freeze, and then crash. Anyone else having this problem?

I seem to be having the same play count bug as everyone else. Listened to many tracks on my iPhone today and there is no record of this in iTunes after syncing. I'm too anal about this sort of stuff to just let it go, so I might drop iTunes match for awhile.

Playcount Sync

I'm having the same issue here. Playcounts are not being synced on my macs. I'm not using iTunes match on my iPhone until this gets worked out.

Here's a good one. Obviously the count is messed up on my iTunes for some reason. :p

Wonder if the obvious bugs can be worked out from the iTunes server side or if an iTunes update will be necessary.

Im getting a massive amount of files that are requiring uploading/not matching properly. My connection is much to slow at uploading to upload 5,000 songs. They wont be done by next year.

I've read that some people are getting play counts updated from iOS devices but it happens hours (sometimes even more than a day) later. Weird considering that things like playlists and changes to ratings are almost immediate. Apple absolutely needs to fix that and make those updates close to instantaneous, not having play counts working (and smart playlists) is a total dealbreaker for me.

my god i get from one problem to the next with this match service. now i finally got all the album covers working but now i cant download certain songs on my iPhone / iPad.

they seem to load but get stuck on the blue circle towards the end and eventually a message saying "can't connect to iTunes" error or its asking me for my iTunes password.

sometimes they randomly play but once its done playing its showing the cloud again to download it all over

I can add another bug to the list: there are times when a song will not be played. The Music app displays the song title/artist/album art of a song but the song being played is the next song in the playlist or shuffle. At this point, the display is "off by one" from the song being played.

Skipping around or pausing will get the display and playback back in sync but the song that was "skipped" won't play until I delete and re-download the track.

I started with a blank library and let my iPhone download all music from iTunes Match by selecting "Download All" for my playlist - so you'd like to think all my songs would be loaded and ready to go.

I'm having a similar issue.

I have a track that plays fine on itunes on my MacBook.

However, when I d/l it from the cloud onto my iPhone, it keeps cutting off the last 30 seconds of the song and skipping to the next track.

"BLANK" TRACKS WON'T UPLOAD: Specifically, "Pause" by Rob Dougan (from "Furious Angels", CD1). This track is 32 seconds of silence. iTunes Match reports an Error and cannot upload this track.
You are trying to load a song that is nothing but 32 seconds of, well, silence to be "played" by a music service? Really? OK but to fault iTunes for this is like faulting iPhoto for not loading a photo that has no pixels at all.

If that's a track on a CD, how would playing the full album work properly without it? No reason Apple shouldn't support it (and if anything, silent tracks should be the easiest to match). Especially since the iTunes store SELLS that particular silent track.

They sell that track alone? Just silence? Presumably people have bought it. OK, now I have heard everything.

Wow this just keeps getting better. I decided to give iTunes Match another go on my iPad. Found that it's still broken. So I disabled it which resulted in iTunes deleting ALL my smart playlists on my pc. If I restore to an older library it checks the cloud and deletes them again. If I disable iTM then restore it's re-enabled on the restore and again my playlists are deleted. WTF Apple!
