You're kidding, right? You're on MacRumors.com and you don't see why people might be a bit pro-Mac?
Yes, I understand that people on MR are pro-Apple. It's the why a Mac Mini is the automatic answer when someone is asking for an iTunes server I'm curious about. Why don't you read my posts and answer them instead of being impolite?

You appear to be one of those folks who thinks that Windows is the preferred solution and one needs exceptional reasons to use a Mac. There is a large body of folks who think the opposite. Or you're a hater.

A.
How convenient that you just happened to remove the part where I said I would get a Mac Mini if I would set up a server at home. I wonder who the hater is...

I have a Mac Mini in one TV setup and an HP laptop in the other. I prefer the Mini because I can usually get right to using it rather than installing virus and windows updates every time I want to do something. I just find it to be a better experience. That being said, I still like WMC for watching .vob movies versus using Plex, but not enough to make it win out for my top choice.

If you don't have it hooked up directly to the TV and you are only using it for a server, I would still think the time you have to spend for maintenance would be part of the overall experience and I would prefer OSX.

Also, on both the laptop and mini, you can install Splashtop Remote, Logmein, etc.. and control it with an iPad/laptop/iPhone without needing a keyboard after the initial setup.
