I want an iPad Mini but without the bezels. If they make a Pro style iPad Mini with the same internals, then it's an instant buy. Otherwise, I'd just get the 11 inch Pro.

Congratulations on the iPad Mini 5 OP. It's a wonderful iPad. It will be perfect for your needs.

I went ahead with 2019 iPad, as it was $30 off at Amazon (more than the EDU discounts).

My 8+ is way too small for reading and I realized no matter how much I rail, I do more drawing digitally than traditionally so here I am.

You can always trade in your 11" iPP (if you're not going to hand it down) for Apple or Best Buy credit toward a new iPad.

Enjoy your Mini. :)

I used a 6th gen for a while between pros - great iPad, and GREAT price. It’s just not really smaller than my 11” pro, so not gonna work for what I’m wanting.

I think I’ll probably do that trade-in with my 11” iPP when new pros come out because if I really like having the mini, I’ll likely go back to a 12.9 pro.

I completely get the size requirement. I would love another Mini and may get one on sale for commuting and writing on the go. I need something bigger for home use.:)

I like this 7th gen better than the 6th gen, it’s lighter and easier to hold.

I love my iPad Pro 11” for everything except reading books, I still use it for them though, don’t like kindles so would love a mini 5, hard to justify though.

I have both a mini 5 and an air 3, they both serve their purpose, I considered getting rid of one, but never realized how much I actually use both.

It all comes down to if you can really afford it and if you will actually use it. That’s always been my biggest issues with iPads. They’re great devices, but I never use them.
I feel the same way about MacBooks and desktop computers. I never use them. The iPad is light-years ahead in terms of usefulness for me.
