Congratulations on the iPad Mini 5 OP. It's a wonderful iPad. It will be perfect for your needs.
I went ahead with 2019 iPad, as it was $30 off at Amazon (more than the EDU discounts).
My 8+ is way too small for reading and I realized no matter how much I rail, I do more drawing digitally than traditionally so here I am.
You can always trade in your 11" iPP (if you're not going to hand it down) for Apple or Best Buy credit toward a new iPad.
Enjoy your Mini.![]()
I completely get the size requirement. I would love another Mini and may get one on sale for commuting and writing on the go. I need something bigger for home use.I used a 6th gen for a while between pros - great iPad, and GREAT price. It’s just not really smaller than my 11” pro, so not gonna work for what I’m wanting.
I think I’ll probably do that trade-in with my 11” iPP when new pros come out because if I really like having the mini, I’ll likely go back to a 12.9 pro.
I feel the same way about MacBooks and desktop computers. I never use them. The iPad is light-years ahead in terms of usefulness for me.It all comes down to if you can really afford it and if you will actually use it. That’s always been my biggest issues with iPads. They’re great devices, but I never use them.
