I have heard nothing but good things about the D40 and D50. I use a Nikon D2h at work and a Canon 1D for my personal work. A friend of mine who researched both the 40 and 50 says both were incredible. On a side note you know what they say? Once you go pro you loose all your dough. Great decision you really won't regret.
