My view is Apple can invite whoever they want. Developers and engineers pay over $1000 per ticket and media gets in free. Only the best and most professional should get in. My site of choice is gdgt.com.

well reading threw it comments like that one would of gotten people banned here.

Calling the site owners a bunch of ********s is a very fast way to get banned. On that edit I am going to side with Gizmodo.

Gizmodo is crap. I'd rather read crappy writing and blatant Apple fanboyism (i.e. objectivity, although I can understand some of it...) at Engadget than anything from Gizmodo. I felt this way before, and this just reinforces my feelings.

Just look at that ugly-ass mug. Why wouldn't he be a pitiful, miserable bastard? I would be too, if I had to look at that monster in the mirror.

When you have nothing else, go for below-the-belt attacks on someone's appearance. Classy.

Wake up people. Geeks who run blogs are not journalists.

Journalism is the craft of conveying news, descriptive material and opinion via a widening spectrum of media. These include newspapers, magazines, radio and television and the internet.

So technically, they are journalists, just poor at it, like you with providing a sound argument about things. You made a (fairly crap) statement, with no backup, that is also incorrect, as by denintion they are journalists.

And they enjoy posting stories that will earn them money, regardless of ethics or whatelse. They just want money, like all news sources. And they will be biased. Al Jezeera all the way!

Ars Technica > Engadget > Gizmodo

my personal preference.

agreed here.

the other thing that giz did that just lowered my view of them is the stunts at CES a few years back where they were messing with the TVs in the booths just for fun with a universal remote. ruining presentations and the demos. and then being proud of it.

I knew you would come to his defense. But You can't deny it. Why stick up for that punk muthaf**** anyway? You know what? Spare me an answer. I've read plenty of your posts on the matter. Never mind. Pfft.

I don't think he was defending him. I think he meant your offense had nothing of value to add other than pot shots. It's on the level of name-calling.

That's true. That was the reason for my post. I don't like Chen. Others will point out his unethical acts, I'll point out the fact that he's ugly as sin. Childish? Oh yeah! Very. I don't care. I wouldn't deny that. I can be a total ****** when I want to belittle someone I don't like. Simple as that. I'm not here to pretend I'm classy.

So long as you know that your form of belittling really does nothing to your target. It more or less shoots yourself in the foot.

On the moon.
Same thing happened to me a few months ago for asking why they had posted some questionable material. They refuse to allow criticism at all.

Same could be said for Joshua Topolsky's reign as Editor of Engadget around the time the iPad came out. Posts every 5 minutes about it, then when people cried afoul he got immensely butthurt and started to swing the banhammer around and then just completely closed off comments for weeks.

Engadget is a site run by Apple fanboys, but majority of its members are MS/Google fanboys. But i think they did cover Win 7, Win 7 Phone series excessively as well. (May be MS is finally giving them advertising money.

Both sites are bipolar. Complete love affair with certain products only to turn around a week or two later and completely **** on them with snarky comments. It's sad that there really isn't an actual professional tech site that is as up to the minute and wide ranging as Engadget and Gizmodo.

Gizmodo have done that vowel thing for years. It's a script or something. It's not hand edited. And yes, they moderate their comments like crazy.

Most of the comments I've read at Engadget are by delusional cretins. They refer to Steve Jobs in the EXACT same way some people refer to George Bush or Saddam Hussein. I'm not exaggerating. They take crap way too seriously. I'm amazed everytime I turn on the comments at how insane this ridiculous group of people are. I used to think Digg was bad, but these fools make Digg commenters seem moderate. Also, just like on Digg, they don't seem to understand that they're a small percentage of the people who actually view the site every day.

Engadget's Apple coverage gets them more pageviews than any other type of news. Not only more, but ORDERS OF MAGNITUDE MORE. They post a lot of Apple news because it's good business and most of their readers like it. The cretins like it too, or they wouldn't keep posting. If Engadget never covered Apple ever again some of these commenters would stop posting because there'd be nothing to start pathetic arguments about. It's the same here. Some people only post because they know there are a bunch of fanboys and fangirls here who'll take the bait everytime.

So I'm on the "had it with Gizmodo" bandwagon :D

boneheads banned me because I posted something negative about Marty Cooper and how he's irrelevant to the cell business of today and he should keep his mouth shut. I was edited like someone else on this board and then banned. Because I disagreed with a Gizmodo article and then I defended my post from a bunch of others who attacked me.

Gizmodo has lost my reading and any links I used to forward to friends.

This is pretty much a rant, so forgive me, but Gizmodo is out of control.

They are so far from being journalists its not even funny. They act like teen-agers.

I had replied to a post they had about them not being able to attend WWDC with "Thanks for ruining the live blog for us."

Jason Chen promptly edited it by removing vowels and such, and making it look like I can't type worth crap.

And then banned me (which is why Im posting this here and not on Giz).

I can't wait to see what Steve Jobs has in store for them.

why the heck do you support this stupid outlet by posting there and even looking at their site?
if you post at a site like this you almost deserve that your post gets edited. what did you expect from them.

they are a shady half criminal group of losers. they have no job and make only money because enough people bring their hit count up. they represent an entire class of useless people running lousy web sites and getting away without a job. they might as well be on road intersections begging for money claiming they are homeless and unemployed (and by that taking away donations from real poor homeless unemployed people who derserve our support!). ok my rant is over now. sorry:eek:

ignore their site and enjoy seeing them ruined by apple and maybe even sentenced to jail.
