I don't carry any keys. Just the key fob for my truck.

Next answer? :)

So you don't carry keys, what's wrong with having a key ring just for your AirPod case? Or attach a lanyard -- anything that makes the case "larger" will make it easier to find. We've taped ribbons to a few of our stereo remotes that were so small they were constantly getting lost, and the ribbons really help to keep them in sight.

just reflects a lack of proper responsibility.
Some people have chronically bad short-term memory, such as myself. It's not a matter of responsibility, or lack thereof, that makes people forget. Stress, brain injury, or simply being interrupted at the wrong moment can make people forget basically anything. Like taking your kid out of the car baby seat and handing over to daycare before driving off to work and parking the car in the sun all day long.

Myself I can forget most anything; not keys or wallet thankfully (so far anyway); I am rather firmly attached to those - as am I to my head or else I'd probably lost that too somewhere, more than once most likely. I've forgotten loads of other stuff however, a Polar exercise watch at the gym and multiple gym pants too, a nice leather backpack from Crete on a tram, multiple umbrellas...

If I don't forget stuff when I'm out, I forget them at home. Like back when you paid your bills in person at the bank or post office, you go into the city to do your monthly errands and all your bills stayed behind even though you put them right next to your friggin shoes so you'd absolutely remember to bring them? Yup, that was me. :p

You use the same fob to lock the front door to your home too, or do you lock the door from the inside, then squeeze your way out through the cat flap?

Try being more responsible. Fixes a lot of problems.

That would certainly solve a lot of problems in this country. But it's easier for people to blame others for their issues. It's like when people buy a big car and complain about parking in cities. Or when someone buys a coach plane ticket and complains they don't have much leg room.

So if the blame lay with Apple, what would the OP like to see? A bigger case? Yeah, he's alone there. A belt clip? Have fun with that.

There comes a point where you have to put on your big boy pants and have a bit of responsibility for yourself. If your memory is so bad that you can't remember where you put the charging case moments earlier on a regular basis, how do you remember where you parked your car? Do you have to have a GPS tracker to find your car? And what do you do if you forget where your phone is? Do you really think it's a good idea to be driving when you have these constant memory lapses? Seems like a safety issue the DMV in your state should know about.

Yep, time for the mods.

Yep, time for the mods.

So you get an answer which basically says "take some accountability for your property" and you don't like that? What did you expect? People aren't going to tell you everything will be ok. People aren't going to tell you that you're the one person ever to complain that a earbud case is too small. People aren't going to tell you that it's normal to lose the case every five minutes.

I'm not trying to be rude. I just don't think a product is for you if the case which IS small, is hard for you to keep track of. It's like if you're a 6ft7in tall, and complain that a Ford Fiesta is really cramped. The product wasn't designed for people who have a hard time losing tiny things, much like a Fiesta is not designed for NBA players. It's not rude, it's just matter-of-fact. This isn't a site for coddling, it's a site where people ask questions of others and they respect everyone's opinions. I gave my opinion. You really have two options. You can either take a little more care in keeping track of them (cause even if you use a chain attached to them, you're going to have to take the chain off to charge), or move on to a different product less likely to be lost. It's quite simple.

The fob has a key ring hole. Attach the AirPods via that using a small leather pouch. I've done that with my C Class.

*Key ring is also attached to a Tile.

Most people exit their house through the garage door, and most don't lock that door between the garage and the house. At least I sure don't. If I'm taking public transit for the day- I still exit through the garage door and close the door with the PIN pad mounted to the door jamb. Every house in my neighborhood has a PIN pad for their garage door--still no keys. Ironically I still take my car keys with me (and attached AirPods now) when taking public transit for the day. Force of habit to have them with me I guess.

Case in point. Yesterday I go to BB and speak to an employee who purchased the Airpods. He took the case out of his pocket and no lie, no Airpods inside. Can happen to anyone anything. We all lay things down and they get misplaced and have to figure out where the heck we left them.

Something as small as Airpods or the case can easily get misplaced/lost. I never lost my keys or wallet but darn well told I misplaced them. We will see more posts in the future that one misplaced them or lost them. Bound to happen with the tons that will be sold and folks who frequent this forum. And it could be a very careful person, who knows.

We have the locks with codes that you punch in to unlock the front door and door leading from the garage to the kitchen. No keys needed.

And I really don't want my AirPods case attached to my truck key fob. I park my truck behind my RV gate at my house. The key stays in the truck. If I do attach the two together, I'll now have to carry my truck key into the house and wherever I want to listen to the AirPods. And if I misplace my AirPods, then Ive also misplaced my truck key as well. And If I'm out shopping or whatever, I don't want to carry my AirPods while I run into a store to grab milk or whatever.

My problem isn't necessarily about "losing" my AirPods, but more about forgetting where I put them. I run a very successful company. Ive got a lot on my mind. Sometimes I misplace things. Everybody does it. Some more than others. That doesn't make me irresponsible.

This thread wasn't meant to ask the question "how can I keep from losing my AirPods". It was meant for "how can I find them if I do misplace them"

My Tile should show up today. It should be a good solution to my problem. I'll report back on it.

Tiles are ok if misplaced locally, not so if not near where they are.

Ok, other Tile owners can help locate but you'd have to be very fortunate for that to happen.

Here is my case with a Tile ... I love Tile for my keys and wallet, and this one just fits ... bulks up the case a good bit but not inconveniently. Tile sells adhesive now and its strong ... if I wanted to I could put these on a lanyard or my keys and it will not come off ... its worth the hassle in my book, even with the new "Find My AirPods" feature in beta ...

I guess I should have updated my own thread. Oops.

christopher: that exactly what I did. Seems to work good, except I haven't misplaced them since I got the Tile. :)
