I'd say more than that.

:(

Okay, every three weeks then. ;)

Or, with depressing regularity?

Actually, the most depressingly regular thing about these Office v. iWorks debates are the number of people who are willing to tell someone which product is the one they absolutely must own. I'd like to think that the best advice is trying them both and deciding for yourself which one you prefer -- if only because it's a no-cost comparison and nobody is going to know your needs and preferences better than your own self.

Why not wait till Microsoft releases the next version of Office?

Aren't they going to use Universal Binaries in Office '06 to blackmail us into upgrading?

oy vey, ihate to say it, but m$ ffice is better

This thread helped me finally try out iWork 06. I've become WAY too dependent on many of MS Word's features to give that up for Pages as a word processor, but I could definitely see using Pages for the much more useful templates.

But Keynote is simply fantastic. I had a presentation that was 75% complete in Powerpoint. It opened easily, and seemlessly, in Keynote and then I started playing with all the cool transitions

G-bye powerpoint, you got beat. :D

Remember that it also depends on how much you want to spend on it: 80 bucks on iWork or from 150 to 500 bucks (from student to professional versions) on MS Office.
Funny how Apple finally has something cheaper than Microsoft :p

Well, I need Excel for what I do, so i went with Office, but I tried out iWork on my Mini, and it seemed pretty nice overall. Of course, check with your school. I know my University has an agreement with Microsoft so we can get Office for only $25, which is a really good deal, and kind of sealed the deal for me.

Agreed, i am in Excel daily for work and i could not go without it..

So it is M$ Office for me... Although i also own Keynote & Pages and much prefer keynote to powerpoint...

For $25 I'd buy Office too, if only to have it around. For most of us, though, it costs around $300, so we're going to buy it only if we need or prefer it.
