Does Keynote, Pages, and Numbers come on the iPad or do you have to buy them separately? Also is it a package deal for do you buy each one on its own? How much is each one? Thanks.

Search much?

Seriously, I'm usually not much of a forum etiquette cop, but the answers to your questions are so easily and readily found, and in such obvious places, that I can't bring myself to give them to you. Sorry to "be like that."

Straight from that (hard to find though) official source:

Powerful iWork apps, completely reworked for iPad. Starting on April 3, you can download Keynote from the App Store for just $9.99.

bloody link

Excuse me for wanting to chat with other fellow iPad followers that are just as eager as I am to get one. I was just trying to conversate.

Trying to start up a discussion on iWork is great but asking for obvious information isn't the way to do it, it just annoys people.

Have you watched the iWork section of the Keynote? There is a whole load of stuff to talk about in there. What sort of things are you planning to produce using iWork?

I'm looking forward to making slideshows and presentations with Keynote and creating stories with Pages. The awesome text wrap around feature is such a sweet concept. I wanna get iWork 09 for my MBP but I don't have an extra $79 right now due to getting the 32GB Wifi iPad, a case, and all the apps I wanna get.

Now that's more like it :)

Welcome to the forum.

iWork for the iPad is certainly a much more cost effective package, though obviously we don't yet know the sum total of its features. Also, it's not yet clear whether/how much Apple might charge in the future for iWork.com, without which iWork on an iPad might be less than ideal (again, we don't know this, but it's worth pointing out).

Can't wait to get hold of iWork on the iPad.

Would love to know how similar it is the full version on OS X.

Any news regarding printing from the apps?

The iWork apps are looking even nicer after that email where Steve confirmed you can import documents directly from your iDisk. At least that's what he seemed to be confirming.

It feels a bit mean to jump in but it's deserved; the second Google result tells you what you need to know.

Yeah it was mean, the fella didn't find the info and wanted to chat here with the rest of us who are waiting for the ipad, no reason to rube it in his face and be bad mannered about it. Some people might have the same rudimentary yet pertinent question.

Peace.:apple:

That's possibly the best news I have heard in a long time, I am a very big proponent of mobileme getting integrated with the ipad, and having the cloud as a large server for it. This is fantastic news if you can drag anything from your idisk and open it on the fly in iwork. It unleashes the ipad's potential and makes the slow growing flash sizes not so relevant. Nice catch and kudos for the heads up, few people realise what this really means and the great integration and ease of use it brings to the mac. Now what's also required is an autosync feature for folders to the idisk and then to other folders in other macs on the same mobileme account.

...

The title of this thread is more than vague, the initial post only asks about the price and there is no indication of any kind of interest in a discussion in the first post anyway.

That has triggered those responses, as someone who can register at a discussion forum surely can use a rudimentary search engine, but as many of members here have witnessed, that does not seem to be the case.

But to know of iWork on the iPad in the first place, one had to watch the keynote, or looked at the iWork page Apple put up for us to inform people interested in it, or read an article, which might have not mentioned the price of course, but which could lead to the general assumption if one is capable of finding this article, one can also find the official iPad website.

But what do we know anyway.

I am a rube anyway.

PS: Part of the peace has been bitten off.

I decided to take a bigger leap and switch my pre order from the 16GB Wifi to the 32GB Wifi. I was thinking about trading in my DSI to get the DSI XL but I decided to scrap that since the 3DS was announced today and use the $100 I was gonna spend on the DSI XL towards getting the 32GB iPad.

Its gonna be an expensive day. I wanna get at least Keynote, Pages, and a game or 2 (leaning towards Monopoly). Also I wanna download some movies from iTunes that I haven't seen yet. Luckily I found someone on Craigslist that was selling a $50 iTunes card for $30 so that is gonna help out a little.

I found an Incase Neoprene Sleeve from Best Buy that's really for 10.2" netbooks but I am hoping the iPad will fit in it snuggly. Has anyone else seen it? (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Incase+...lack/9425963.p?id=1218103294988&skuId=9425963)

To keep this going, what apps, accessories do you plan on buying day 1?

I hear you, but really... I think some of you old heads need to relax a bit. Everyone was new to the forum once and quite likely made some mistakes (like use of "conversate" which is clearly not a word). IMO, you should be trying to cultivate new users, not embarrass them.

I agree, but sometimes a little hint can be useful, it just sometimes gets out of hand as it seems.

And the "new user" stigma should not be an excuse for all things. The price can be looked up quite easily.

But what the hell, it's just a forum, we don't need to derail from any discussion that might be going on here.

Okay, I hate to be one of those people, but 'conversate'? Conversate? Perhaps you meant converse.

Anyway, the applications come à la carte, which is how I like it. I'd much rather be able to just buy iMovie instead of having to buy all the other iLife crap.

Come to think of it I have no use for iMovie anymore....
