I like Apple's iPad case the most. It tilts nicely for both watching the videos and for typing. Very convenient.

I quite like the Apple case, but its feel bugs me a bit. It's like using a completely different device.

I like the feel of the iPad as it comes, except that it feels a bit vulnerable - and more than that, slippy off the knee when it doesn't have a case.

I guess I'd like a really thin, transparent, grippy case that won't feel like it adds any weight or bulk to the pad and leaves it otherwise as it comes.

I went with a skin protecting the back and screen protector on the screen, can never get used of cases for my ipad

Invisishield?

What I don't like is that newer apple iPad commercial. The one with the girl riding as a passenger in a motorcycle and holding the iPad naked with no protection.

Let's see the iPad recover going in the open at 50 mph in a motor cycle and it slips out of your right arm if you hit a bump in the road. Your other arm is holding the driver.

Quirky Cloak. Coming Soon. The story behind this case is interesting. Quirky.

Well, there's your Accessories section version. :)

Anyone using it naked and regretting it? Especially those who've had it for months now. Is it scratched and dinged to ruination, or are we all being terribly retentive?

I've used it naked without a case since day 1. I like my iPad natural, the aluminum feel and thinness that a case or sleeve would take away. Yes, you do get scratches and dings and whatnot, but honestly I treat mine like crap. I toss it around, dropped it from time to time. I was picky at first, kinda like a new car, worried to get the slightest scratch, but now that it's been worn in, I have a much better peace of mind, caring less if it gets scratches or not.

Ditto. Power Support Crystal Film on the front. SGP Carbon Skin on the back.

Awesome combo - and easier to hold (Carbon Skin has texture and is grippier than the aluminum).

I've read too many stories of people scratching their screens - I've seen too many scratched rear aluminum panels when checking out the Apple store demo units.

When transporting, I chuck it into an Incase slip sleeve.

How is the carbon skin?
I'm thinking about purchasing but worrying about the application, and removal, I.e will it leave a reside?

Anyone who has the skin, please give me some insight ?

Thanks,

Yeah, carbon skin looks like a nice halfway solution... Only in Black? I'm a bit wary of permanently changing my iPad's look...

The Quirky Cloak does look nice, but those images are renders, right? The product hasn't actually been manufactured yet.

Reckon iPad 2 will have a grippy rear? Maybe even moulded out of the same material as a MacBook White underside?

I found the Bestskinsever body film the best for a near naked experience ... fantastic protection from daily scratches and a really nice feel. You can see a demo of how to apply it on YouTube. Quite easy, and even includes side protection. I add to that a Powersupport clear skin shield for the glass and job done.

For additional protection I throw on the Frogz case. Also unobtrusive, won't scratch your precious and adds grip.

For extra protection when traveling, I put the whole thing in a Hard Candy case, which is really durable and looks great. If I'm going somewhere that requires a lot of protection yet needs to look professional, I use a Waterfield Exo case, which is gorgeous.

If I'm going somewhere where I need to type, like a meeting, I use the Apple case, which works beautifully with the Waterfield.

I'm going to end up spunking upwards of £100 on trying out different cases and skins...

(Thanks btw DannyNguyener for your comments - part of me is very much inclined towards this attitude...)

This is what I am trying to avoid. So far, I only spent $40 on a inCase Grip which I then keep in a 111" netbook case.

The grip is pretty cool in that it has two humps on the back, near top and bottom, leaving it thin in the middle, easy to pick up off a flat surface, and also easy to find a great finger position for holding it in various environments. The slop of the top grip allows me to prop up something behind it. It also hooks on my knee, or the edge of a couch arm.

I don't like the pad sitting flat when not in use, so I am working up a solution with a 5x7 acrylic frame that is working pretty good. I plan to hit target to look through the acrylic pieces as I think these have the best potential for a NON-commercial solution while companies crank up the production of better commercial solutions.

The frame I have right now is good...but a little low. I have tried a couple of other 5x7 frames that were not as good.

But, I guess this thread is about jacket and slip. But it is the grip that I like in conjunction with the frame.

The Netbook bag I am using is a little to large...I need to get a 10" variety. But I like the handles...and the two pockets which contain a usb cord, vga doc, and ear buds. I can also put paper, a pen, my wallet and a cell phone...in a worst case scenario.

I did just try a targus iPad bag case from Best Buy. But, with the inCase grip, it was too tight of a fit to slip in and out easily. Also, the neoprene netbook case is actually as slender as the puffy fabric of the targus, despite the neoprene being too big for the pad. I think the 10" case will be very nice and will fit nicely on the back of my bike. The current 11" case has to have the excess folded over.
