I downloaded the modified JB from the Italian site linked in this thread, and it says my iPad 7.0.6 is already jailbroken and it's NOT recommended to jailbreak again. but it isn't jailbroken.... should I just do it anyway?

edit: I did it and it worked fine.

What link? Can you post (repost) it?

How'd you know you made my girlfriend paranoid:D

Thanks for your insight on the matter but I'm jailbroke on 7.06.

question: are you able to keep those tweaks jb from cydia after redownloading?
which version of evasion did you use?

You can get the modified evasion from Redmondpie or the link I posted on the first page. I don't think evad3rs have updated but all they will do is just add 7.0.6 as a possible firmware.

I always set up as new, I know it's a hassle but this might be the last time to jailbreak until forever:)... I write down repos, tweaks and settings and take pictures of home screen and everything else lol.

Glad they caught this before the supposedly unjailbreakable iOS 7.1 is released!!!

First time I've finally managed to update my iPad without losing all my JB tweaks.

1) Backup using OpenBackup (selected both Download and Backup). Also backup-ed those files onto Mac by scp-ing into iPad.

2) Manual Backup on iTunes.

3) In iTunes, hold down Option Key and click Restore iPad. Selected correct custom ipsw downloaded from iClarified site.

4) Let the thing restore.

5) Run Evasi0n. When it says click on the Evasi0n button, I went through the setup screen on the iPad. Set up as New iPad.

6) After it jailbreaks, click on Restore Backup in iTunes (or it may have prompted from the iPad. Forgot.). Non-Cydia apps now restored.

7) Go to Cydia and install OpenBackup. I had to go into Cydia again and install additional packages before it actually appeared on the screen.

8) Go to OpenBackup and click Restore.

9) IMPORTANT: Restart the iPad. Voila, my Cydia apps appeared.

Not sure why I've never managed to get it to work till now. But finally success!

Just updated to 7.0.6 and jailbroke my iphone and ipad again. Everything went smooth. This update is really worth for security issues! :)

If I never use public wifi, is this update worth all the trouble to update (I have a half dozen devices I would need to do)? And is there a possibility of 7.1 being jailbroken, or is that just not going to happen? I'd rather wait for that one if I need to do all my devices.

Thanks.

When I upgrade to a new iOS and rejailbreak I first do an iTunes full backup. Then take screen captures of all of the iOS pages, Cydia Sources, Cydia Packages and screen captures of any custom configurations done in Cydia apps.

I do a full restore in iTunes. Setup the iDevice as new and then run the Jailbreak. I use Photo stream to view the screen captures from another device and reinstall all Cydia Source and Cydia Packages.

Once that's done open iTunes and select restore from backup. The restore will restore all of your iTunes apps and place the Cydia apps on the correct pages and folders. The restore will also restore Cydia installed apps custom settings.

Everything should be the same once the restore is done.

When going from 7.0.4 to 7.0.6 jailbroken. Do you update the iPhone or do a full restore?
I did a backup then full restore.

Okay really stupid lame question here. I've been jailbreaking and unlocking since the iPhone 3G using all the various apps.

Can someone explain what signing an iOS version is and what it means? I've never understood that.

I updated instead of doing a full restore only to find out I had 2 of each folders in var/stash/ after reinstalling all my Cydia tweaks. It was a real pain deleting the folders since I could not figure out which Wallpaper and Ringtones folder was the new or old. The good thing about it was that it remembered all my icon positions, sources, and all the settings for the Cydia tweaks once reinstalled. If you go that route, take a screenshot so you can know which folders to delete.

Basically means which iOS version can be installed on a device

Jumped the gun and gave up my only and last iOS 6 device. I mean it's not worth staying especially if your gonna get screwed with that SSL bug. I'd hate to have to change credit card every time someone steals my info. As much as i don't like iOS 7 and it's UI overhaul. i did get used to it. mainly wanted to stay on iOS 6 for zephyr but they already got Multitasking Gestures tweak to make up for it and basically all the other basic and essential tweaks are already updated to iOS 7. the last time i was on iOS 6, I ended up making the notification center and the lock screen like iOS 7's so i really so no point in staying anymore.
