I disagree. JB has felt quite stable to me. Were you rooted or anything?

I used to root, and make custom ROMs, and flash kernels, and this that or the other thing... But by the time I got the Galaxy Nexus I didn't feel much like doing any of that so I kept it stock.

laughable? well if you want a smartphone to play games as a kid yes, i guess iphone is the best option...

but i don' want a phone where i cannot download things directly from the browser or navigate through the system files...

or maybe you are not very smart to use android smoothly (no offense)

I agree and am regretting my iPhone 5 purchase. Without question am going to Andriod next go round. Unfortunately I imagine the number of users Apple loses over this will be extremely minimal as most are clueless soccer moms.

me too buy the i5 is the worst i could do!! luckily the S4 will be announced in january, let's hope it's released soon!!

thanks for all the answers guys. i have the original iphone, iphone 3 and iphone 3gs. i had a 4 and 4S but traded them in first one to AT&T and the 4S to ebay instant sale, and am now on the 5. I am thinking of just adding a no contract 4G box, just got to find what company sells them here in the middle of no where. don't want to do the att one cause then i am stuck for two years and there will most likely be a JB in the next 6 months (totally just throwing a # out there)

i am an apple fanboi at heart i have a macbook, imac i7 (will always have mac computers)an apple tv on every tv in the house (4), apple router, think that covers it...i think.

but anyways if by the next major bump, not the 5S (or whatever) but the iphone 6 doesn't have a major software (not just hardware) i will be switching to android as well and my wife's 4S and my 5 will become touches and apple tv remotes

No, not too defensive much, just tired of looking for clues to a jb release and finding droid trolls and clueless noobs giving their own opinions that have nothing to do with reality or the thread topics imo... I will say that it's discouraging to find Schnedi in here playing along after all that you've contributed to the jb scene. If you are losing interest, that means something substantial to me.

Funny how a thread that should have died on page 2 like all the other 'when is my jailbreak coming' threads lives on and becomes a haven for Android lovers and promoters. If anyone has any valuable knowledge or input as to why the dev-team will not be able to crack iOS 6 or the iPhone 5, carry on with the intent of thread.. otherwise, why are you here again?

JB used to be great. Solved a lot of issues iOS couldn't.

Now they have build iOS with most of these tweaks. The multiple exchange account signatures was my big issue.

Only reason I want a JB anymore is attaching files from Dropbox and free tether.

I notcied the JB sucked up a lot of battery on my 4S. It's nice to have a decent battery life on IPhone 5 w/o JB.

Yeah because tuning your icon grid and customize your Rom is so "professional" work lol

When you really want to do work you need:
1. A working phone from the first second
2. Real apps

iOS has both contrary to Android *DOT*

But at least with your android phone, you will be able to do sexting...

Free tether ? Don't you have it already from your provider ??

Android is a force to be reckoned with. Wake up Apple.

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3GS (5.1.1) that is still serving me well but after almost three years it is getting a bit long in the tooth. I was considering upgrading to an iPhone 5 but the Apple Maps catastrophe (don't they test software anymore before they release it??), the generally underwhelming iOS 6 and - most importantly - the uncertain future of the jailbreak scene has me holding off for now. If anything I'd much rather get a 4S running 5.1.1. At least I can free that device and make it mine.

Unless Apple makes some serious changes, many iPhone users (especially the jailbreakers) may well upgrade to an Android device rather than sticking with Crapple (sorry fanboys :D). Talking to friends and reading the forums makes it clear that Apple needs to shape up or risk losing once loyal customers to Samsung/Android.

Personally, I prefer iOS (jailbroken) over Android. It's not perfect but it does what I need it to do, and it does it well. Problem is, I've become so used to running a freed device that going back to stock iOS is almost impossible. If the jailbreaking scene withers and dies and/or Apple doesn't do something innovative (like, I don't know, not locking down its iOS line) I may become an Android convert yet.

I can't emphasize enough how much louder, and more ubiquitous, the whispers about moving to Android have become since the release of iOS 6 and the iPhone 5. Maybe if enough people jump ship Apple will be forced to innovate again to remain competitive in the high-end smartphone and tablet markets. Sales taking a hit and share prices tanking might be just be the kickstart Apple needs to get its increasingly stale act together.

I'll keep my faithful 3GS going for a bit longer (or perhaps get a 4S that can still run iOS 5.1.1) and wait to see what Jony Ives has up his sleeves before I seriously consider moving to Samsung and Android. Here's hoping Apple steps up to the plate.

And the deep thought award goes to...

Though not everyone jail breaks for piracy, every pirate jail breaks...

Wow, that's deep man. Really made me think. Kind of like "Though not every person is a murderer, all murderers are people..." You must be a philosopher!

Made you think? Really? First time?

I did jailbreak my 4S for a while but 6.0 came out, I never bothered and I don't even know if it's possible to JB 6.0 on my 4S, I really don't need it. My 4S does everything pretty much what I did JB for anyways like blocking calls and only allowing calls in my book.

Now that I have cancelled my Verizon service on my 4S due to crappy service, my 4S is now an iPod. I now have my AT&T 3GS as my only phone and that has been jailbroken on 5.1.1 and I haven't upgraded to the latest, no need to. I like having iBlacklist on it. That was the only thing I ever wanted on my phone after all these years.

i've had the iphone 3g, 3gs, 4 and 5. 1 htc, 1 nexus galaxy and the S3. now i only have the i5

i even know how to crack cydia apps (but i don't feel the needed to do it). with this i mean that probably i know about iphone more than you...

but me and EVERYONE knows that you cannot do much with your iphone without jailbreak (as i said some posts above: play games). BUT without root i can do a lot of things with an Android, even from the PlayStore!!.

now the question is: why use an iphone WHEN i have better phones, a better OS and cheaper?

because iOS is smoother? yes it is, but for use it at the 50% of the possibilities, no thanks.

and as i said it some posts above too. unless you are dumbass Android can be used as smoothly as iOS.

So what sort of things can't you do on iOS that you desperately need for work/productivity?

download files from safari and edit them directly in the phone... a "smartphone" which cannot do that really makes me laugh!!

Why would I want to do that via safari? I have tons of apps which let me download/edit files locally or even remotely on my iPhone.

Well that's great for you. Others prefer doing it another way. Nothing wrong with options.

So you are a script kiddy that can follow a tutorial. what's the point ?

I can develop the app you are cracking...

Now if you want to speak about apps or missing stuff, where are the so good apps for Android tablets ? Wait, I know, there is none.

That's why Google is now crying for dev not to consider the tablet as a big phone as they said before.

^ there are a few. However could we not turn this into such a childish contest.

Let's stuck to the topic.
