It was an early model, HTC Eros and I will give you that they had not yet worked out many kinks! At that time, the iPhone 4 was new and Verizon swapped them out for me.. never looked back or regretted my switch since. All my pcs have been Apple since '98 anyways so it only makes sense...:)

Comparing the droid eris to any phone out now is ridiculous.

Not sure how long ago that was but I just started using Android recently and its just as smooth as iOS with no lag, crashing, or issues whatsoever. I was always interested in Android but never made the jump due to the issues they had in the past. They've now made huge strides with the OS and have worked out many of the issues and complaints from before.

I just don't like the way the OS looks and the lack of support after say 3 months from the manufacture is a killer for me. Its just not that great. I used android on the HTC EVO, EVO 3D, and the Rezound all were nice devices but lack of updated software turned me off. HTC would only updated the new phones with new versions of Sense and that just made me mad. Guys on XDA would spend months porting Sense over to our devices. Its time they should not have to spend. The Rezound was/is a great device but HTC/Verizon just deserted it. Apple doesn't do that, you might not get all the features of a new device but you will get something. That's what Google needs to fix. And people don't say the Nexus it doesn't even have 4G what a waste. Google fixes their update process and makes the OS look like something (this is 2013 you know) maybe I will come back.. for now the iPhone is a winner. I spend zero minutes looking/compiling a ROM and zero minutes flashing and restoring with Titanium Backup. I'm not a kid I don't have time for all that anymore, got real work to do..

i agree. since 4.0 android has been pretty solid. pre 4.0 i wouldnt consider one.

i'm just waiting for the Sansumg Galaxy 4!

i have an i5 i cannot theme it, download things from safari, install nice extensions (as the ones for mobile substrate) etc...

It has been slow lately, plus Mac Themes seems to have died. SNES guy has been updating the emulator lots, so that's been keeping me busy. I sure would like to be on iOS6 soon though.

So you're saying you prefer stock iOS and that people who spend time modifying their phones are kids and you're busy doing real work?

Not exactly but I guess if that's all you got from my comment then I guess.

Pretty much everyone in XDA is younger than 25, so I'd have to agree. At least the people that have my phone. I don't go on there much because it just feels awkward. In the off-topic thread people are talking about high school, and I'm way passed that.

Lol yup. Probably one of the reasons why their marketplace shut down / had so many scams

It's not like be was working on a JB or there one for 6.0.2 or lower anyways ...

Just cause he wasn't working on one, it still affects those who are working on one and the jailbreakers try to hit the most current OS version to affect as many devices as possible.

I officially regret selling my unlocked 4S on 5.1.1 ...

Luckily I kept my precious!

Well if iOS 5.1.1 is the last firmware that can be JB then my 4S can sell for a lot of money. Maybe when the next iPhone comes out I'll upgrade and sell the 4S for $1000 or more.

I have a 4 and a 4s sitting on 5.1.1 jailbroken ready to go.. They really could be almost a retirement plan !! LOL!

i dont think the hackers are even working on it. why the heck they cant release the failbreak to everyone.!!

cause the heck it needs developer tools which apple does not allow, it would violate the TOS.

this has only been mentioned a zillion times since the failbreak was annouced.

They are working on it though
