Just to chip in my 2¢..

I heard these speakers in an Apple store, they were next to a pair of £300 speakers that sounded weak compared to the Creatures. So I ordered a pair that day for £69. Like others have said if you pay more, generally, you get better quality sound. The only flaw I've found is that the speakers arent exactly 'flat' in terms of their frequency response, but thats down to their design. You see the high range is covered by the 2" satellite speakers and the bass by the subwoofers, so the mid range is a bit patchy. This might be a moot point - as most people use EQ to boost the Bass and High frequencies anyway!

Maybe I notice that more because of my music background, but that hasnt stopped me enjoying these speakers at all. They are fun, beautifully designed, plug into ANYTHING with a standard 3.5mm jack, which is pretty much any consumer music device.

  • Pros: Stunning design, great price, very flexible, plenty of length on the included wires, idiot-proof connectors (think of a childs toy where you put the cube through the square hole)
  • Cons: Uneven frequency response, unusual sub shape. Also you might get bored of your flatmates saying "WOAH! What are THEY?! So cool!"

Very good description, I second all of that. They're just great speakers that you have to experience for yourself in your own environment and you'll love using them.

Sod off
Hmm, more good news.

The bad part of this is I'm thinking about getting myself a set now, even though I don't really need new speakers!:p

I thought the same thing when I bought mine, but I soon realized how much I was really missing before.:D

These are wonderful speakers. I bought a pair last year for my girlfriend because she thought they were just "ever-so cute" and I ended up gifting myself this year and picking up a black pair. I don't see why many are complaining about the sound of these, it takes a bit of tweaking sometimes to get when you want out of them but you will definitely be able to get a wonderful range with them. I have often amazed many of my friends with the sound that pours out of these tiny little speakers. They then continue on to complain about how much they wasted on their own systems. Regarding the comment about the dorm room... I live in a dorm room myself and I just keep the sub on the ground right next to my desk (not under... there isn't enough room for the sub and my UPS) and they're always in great reach. Also, about the sub, it MUST be placed on the ground if you want to get a good sound out of it. My ignorant roommate took my sub and moved it on top of my refrigerator one day and after yelling at him for about 2 hours about how he is not to ever touch my electronics, I tried them out and the sub has absolutely no punch when not in a low-lying area. Definitely get a pair for yourself, you won't regret it!
