Current Microsoft & Logitech mice design put Ive's to shame. In fact he's pretty hypocritical, the Magic Mouse is different for difference's sake rather then being GOOD.

I think the magic mouse is pretty cool actually and it works well but i have only used one once and in that time, it worked well. The problem is as usual, it costs too much. Im not going to pay $70 for a mouse. My current wireless Logitech mouse cost me $20 and it works very well.

I used one for both office tasks and home use for 3 months, and never before or since did I appreciate my crappy HP laptop touchpad more. It's so uncomfortable, and on top of that it registers finger movement at the most inconvenient time. It was like battling my computer for mouse control. I'm sorry Ive but what the hell were you smoking when you made that mouse...

What about how the routers and time capsules don't have enough ventilation and tend to overheat? Is that a considerate design? Or the piece of crap plastic MacBooks.. or every mouse Apple has made since 1997? How about the Titanium powerbooks?

You forgot to mention the highly-reflective untreated sheet of glass placed in front of every screen in recent years. That's 100% aesthetics, 0% usability.

I suspect Ive is genuine in his intention to design products for people, but for whatever reason, they do have a spotty record when it comes to ergonomics and the principle of form following function. Sometimes the "oh look it's shiny!" principle is just too hard to resist methinks.

You know what else it is?

Quiet.

Really quiet. I scroll all day on it, shoot into Mission Control, swipe between desktops, zoom in and go back and forth on web pages in Safari with nary a sound.

If that's not the definition of "resting on ur laurels", I don't know what is. Just because u designed something that looked great, doesn't mean u have to beat it to death with every iteration for years and years. The current iPhone is beautiful. No denying it. Its the most beautiful cell phone ever. But im tired of looking at it. I'm ready to see his next beautiful design. Its called evolution. And vertically stretching the iPhone 4 and replacing the back is not what I envision as a evolutionary, revolutionary design change. And that's what we should be expecting. Mark my words...Everyone is going to be shocked when the new iPhone drops. All this crap u have been seeing lately is 100% false. Bet the house on it.

What, so the only reason you want a new one is because you're bored with your current toy and want a new one that looks different, so you can be wowed for a few minutes. Are you like, 5 years old or something?

I'd have to kill myself if I only could use a laptop with trackpad instead of a full desktop with keyboard & mouse.

Yeah, I take in my magic mouse and bluetooth keyboard and use a Rain stand:

The other option is using an old Dell laptop provided by the company.

Why even get a laptop? Spend half the money and use your iPad if your going to get all that. Your basically using a small iMac. Just wondering why you dont even use the laptop keyboard?
To each their own, but thats a lot of extra money.

I already had the laptop and mouse, it's my own personal one. I don't really need an iMac at home, the MBP works just fine.

I don't use an iPad at work because I work for a website, so I have to edit photos, audio and videos, post things to the admin side of our site, design new site layouts, listen to an online police/fire scanner, etc. I also don't own an iPad yet, but if I did, it wouldn't supplant the MBP.

I basically just bought the bluetooth keyboard because the Rain mStand was a gift. Trying to type on the MBP's keyboard when it's on the stand doesn't work too well, the angle is steep, so I bought the bluetooth keyboard.
