Okay so need help.
I took the old hd out cuz I could not do anything with it.
I installed a 1tb ssd and made a bootable high Sierra usb thumb drive. I installed the ssd and the usb stick .. turned the machine on and held option. Started the install from the thumb drive. Got to disk utility and erased the ssd and formatted it. Then continued with the install of high Sierra and when I get to the point to install on a drive it says the ssd this version of macOS can’t be installed on this computer ? Wtf ?
edit
crap it looks like I if I don’t modify to the 5,1 firmware I’m stuck to El Capitan? How do I even get a copy of that? I need to put something on this Mac Pro so I can upgrade the firmware.
Am I screwed ?
