If you're going to be running any programs, it does. As I noted elsewhere, a 1GB Mac Pro I toyed with at the Apple Store crapped itself trying to run Aperture and a couple of lesser programs at the same time. Throw something using Rosetta in there and you're SOL.

Yeah no matter what computer you are using Mac OS X Tiger likes gobs and gobs of RAM, 512mb is just not enough (even on my PowerBook G4 1.5ghz), 1GB is the minimum I would use Tiger with (unless its a budget computer or something) and I know Tiger will thank me A LOT for putting 2GB on the Mac Pro...

In my opinion, the Mac Pro is a machine designed for 2GB+ of RAM.

Thanks. Sounds a little fiddlier than I imagined, but looking forward to receiving mine, next week hopefully.
