I'm definitely not going to take the replacement swimming. I really want to avoid all the drama again, plus I've lost just a little bit of faith in Apple's advertising…

I upgraded from the original when the new ones came out and have been lap swimming with it since 3 times a week usually for 45-60 minutes. I haven't had a single problem.

I even gave my old one to my swim coach and bought him a waterproof band for it and he hasn't experienced any problems either.

Just and FYI, I use the swim.com app for swimming. It's free and has a lot more to offer than the workout app.

Received the replacement Apple Watch mid last week, have taken it swimming (brave or silly?) and so far everything is good. Still waiting for Apple to release the hold on the value of the Apple Watch that was sent out to me and no word yet if they decide to release the $99 'incident' fee.

It can take three to five business days for a hold to be released off your card.
