I just installed Monterey beta 6 (21A5506j) and every time I open now safari it opens up for a second and then crashes and shuts down. Restarted but nothing fixes. Anyone else have this issue now?

Same here. I tried starting in safe mode but it still crashes. I then removed all the extensions (with Finder) and it still crashes. Started Safari in safe mode (CDM +Alt and click Safari icon) but it still crashes.
Safari Technology Preview works fine.
Has anyone found a solution.

As others have said, installed Monterey beta 6 yesterday, Safari working fine for me. Safari version is 15.0 (17612.1.28.5).

I can get it to work as long as I’m not using safari on my phone. (Detecting the option to open the webpage that’s on my phone)

I had a similar issue in a previous beta. I would reset safari and see if that fixes it. If you uncheck Safari in your Mac's iCloud settings, then use something like AppCleaner to find all the preferences that are linked to safari, it will reset the app. Because it's a system app, App Cleaner won't remove the actual Safari app itself, just the settings and preferences. Then you can reopen it and see if that works!

I think that it is linked to Bitdefender - I had no issues with my 12” MacBook that was not running Bitdefender, but Safari on my 15” MBP kept crashing. Uninstalling Bitdefender appears to have fixed the issue.

I uninstalled Bitdefender as I do not know anything about removing extensions. Problem solved! I guess I'll keep the program off until the upgrade.

I have to ask the obvious. I have no extensions when looking at Safari (beta 6) preferences. Why in the heck do you need bitdefender? Just get use to running Safari in private mode majority of the time, and retain only unique Website data, such as the 4 caches used by Netflix that has to run in a normal window. (99% of web stored data is worthless to retain) Gone are all your trackers.

Something like bitdefender isn't going to be verified to work correctly with brand new beta versions of a new Safari.

I recommend not to use such cleaner applications and to clean the folders yourself. You can safely clean folders like /Users/You/Library/Safari - when the application is closed of course. If you have bookmarks in iCloud, they will be downloaded back to the device in the same folder, so you can safely delete everything inside that folder. Most of the time this solves all the problems with conflicts when loading an app.

Had a similar issue, I believe it was TamperMonkey or SmileAllDay which, after toggling off, solved most of the problems I was having with crashes. I still get beachballs on sites like Adorama, and when using key commands to autofill login forms. Beta probs.
