Just ordered a base model with 4gb ram in Vancouver.

Says it ships on Nov 17-23rd.

Any recommendation with protection/cases/sleeves/bags?

This is my first mac laptop and i can't wait!

I prefer a sleeve so it fits in most bags,

Checked Ebay out, looks like there are lot of good value solutions.

Any recommendation?

Agreed. I also love their 2 unfold bags, but man are they expensive! I'm thinking I may order the sleeve to go inside a muzetto from Waterfield Designs.

Yeah that would be a great combo! I still haven't ordered my new Macbook Air yet, deciding between the base model 13 with 4 GB RAM or the ultimate 13 inch! Let me know how long it takes to arrive in Canada, I'm from the Toronto area myself

I bought both a bag and a sleeve for my 13 inch MBA and give high marks to both the bag, a Marware Sportfolio Deluxe for Macbook Air, and the sleeve, an Incipio sleeve for Macbook Air. The Marware bag is now on sale for $49.99, which is a bargain, it seems to me. You may have trouble finding the Incipio sleeve right away because Amazon from whom I bought mine, now has it on backorder. Both the bag and sleeve are good values, commendably lightweight, well made, and convenient to use. Highly recommended.

I was deciding between those two as well

After like 6 trips to apple store / futureshop / bestbuy , I felt the 13 looks thin and small until I compare it side by side

As my first Mac , I felt like 11.6 gave me less comfort to use for longer than a few hours

I have a fast pc desktop at home and wanted a very portable laptop for freelance work and conferences

Being a geek I couldn't justify sacrificing 2 hrs of battery life , higher res screen and 20% CPU boost

I got the incase zipperless sleeve on eBay for 30cdn , saw them online for 60

I am going to keep looking for carrying suggestions , just so many options out there

Thanks everyone

Check out the incase sleeve. There are lots of vendors on eBay from the UK who are selling them for pretty cheap.

EDIT: Just saw that you ordered the incase off eBay. That's the same one I ordered too. Mine should be getting here sometime next week.

Well, I'm a fussy bag person, so I have this thing...

Untitled by 350GT, on Flickr

Fits my 2 13 inch macbooks in, (white, and unibody), my ipad, and my new 11.6 MBA, as well as 2 ipods, and a bunch of other stuff I need when traveling. I got it a few years ago for 200 or so bucks, but it;s on sale at Macy's for $99. It's more business thanmessenger I think, but it's a fooking good bag.

The SFA sleeve. very nice. Keeps the size, but protects from scratches..

I don't normally, but I travel away from my home a great deal, for long periods, so take them with me. I don't like putting them in checked luggage.

Actually, the white macbook normally stays in the states, but I'm moving to Eastern Europe, so that normally sits on a shelf, not in a bag. Normally have the ipad, and the unibody, but this time I'll have the 4.

That's really handy , I gotta check it out, carrying it like a notebook is awesome but I worry 13.3 is a bit big for it

Thanks,

Thanks,

I like it too, but the model # RA-4534-02 doesn't work on the Staples website. :(

I'm currently using a Mac-Case flight jacket which carries my 13" MBA, iPad and MBA power supply.

I have been having a hard time deciding which sleeve to buy also. I am mostly sold on the wool/leather sleeves, and have found a good few of them for sale. Below are the links to ones that I think look nice. Also, I just got a Hard Graft 2unfold bag, and it is on it's way to me. should have it next week, so I plan on picking a sleeve by then...

Custom leather sleeve.

Rib and Hull Wool and leather sleeve.

Pack and Smooch Wool sleeve with pocket and leather sleeve.

Sena Leather (expensive) sleeve.

Incipio case (I like this one a lot, and have talked to them to make sure it will work).

Vaja leather case. This one is so nice, but it is also ver expensive... But looks like a nice case.

Then of course the Hard Graft sleeve. I would love this one if only they made it like the 2fold ipad case with the leather handle on it, and maybe a little leather pouch for my charger on it...

So I will update this with what I buy, but I am at a loss of which one to get at the moment... To many choices, and then there is waiting for what else may be coming...

Wow.

Talk about overkill! Defeats the purpose of portability!

Actually I might have to go through the same then when I go visit parents for the next month.

Haha did you see that from my posts?

I was going to post the same thing, but guess you beat me to it. I posted this same thing in the post your last purchase thread a few weeks ago and got an onslaught of pms about it.

Nice looking case. Do you know who the manufacturer is or Staples item number.
