I was trying to hold off for the "announcement", but my friend convinced me that - since I was set on the 15" MBP, there really wasn't any need to wait any longer. I also just sold my current powerbook and its already packed and being shipped away today.

Tell me I did the right thing! Tell me Apple wont suddenly change the hardware or anything crazy like that on the 15" and they wont release something that will be ridiculously better than the 15" MBP in their "upcoming anouncement".

Hehe.

If it makes you feel better, it is VERY doubtful that the 15 inch will undergo any changes at all. Most likely there will be a 12 and a 17 inch version of the MBP introduced at some point. Then again, we never do know for sure what apple has up their sleeve. :D

ahhh whew, thanks guys. I'm still anxiously waiting for the press conference though - so I can get the video ipod.
I can't wait to get my MBP in!! I ordered 1 gig of ram off crucial, and I'll likely go by the mall today or tomorrow to buy some other accessories.

Mikey, im with yah im picking one up next week when i go to ny. But then again i wonder when this next event is going to be.

Just enjoy your purchase.

You'll be content for at least a few years and
be enjoying newness now. What the heck.

True. I figure, its a heck of a jump from my previous G4 1.33 ghz. And if I chose to upgrade for some reason next year, Macs have a truly great resale value. Yes?

I'm ready to put my order in...but I keep telling myself to wait. I don't expect anything to be announced that I want more than the MBP, but If i figure that I've waited almost 2 months...so I can wait a few days more. (It's hard though).

I just got my MBP yesterday, and believe me when I say, "ordering one is the right thing to do!!"

Haha, enjoy ;)

I just found out they're coming out with 13" and 17" MacBook Pro (not MacBook), both widescreen priced at $1499 and $2799 with 2.33 Ghz Core Duos. The big change for these is the new two button scrollpad that Apple had under wraps. Expected to be released Friday for the April 1st anniversary.

Just trying to make them feel bad, huh? ;)

what you forgot to mention was that both version are shipped without a working screen, and dual 15 gig HD's.

15" is the sweet spot for me!

Well, you might think different...

Similar to any other living matter on the planet, your macbook will
get old and die. This day will come, either you want or not,
so be prepared.

On the other hand, why are you wondering whether it was a good or bad decision ?

Just enjoy the ride...and I am sure you will !

My 'old' iMac is just as good as the new one. Actually, I would only be concerned when some clever company release a killer app (maybe something along the touching interface idea). If apple just keeps updating its hardware to a better HD, graphics, memory, webcam, etc I will keep my current setup
for years to come. What I needed was stability and OSX (as well as linux) provided that.

Congrats for your purchase !

:)

yes no yes no yes no

I got one two weeks ago, I flip from thinking i am part of some big apple experiment as us customers test drive some machine they just knocked out on the other hand I will be using it at times and think I LOVE THIS THING!(when i ignore the stange noises that are termed normal by apple care)

hmmm that dosent help very much does it?
