I ordered an wi-fi because I think 3G version is overpriced. Since I have macbook pro + iphone 4, I will be giving this to my father. But, we will share most of times. After 1-2 years later, I will order ipad 3rd gen or google tablet...

Of my many friends who have used it since I purchased, I can honestly say that people improving their opinion after actually using it outnumbers those who remain unimpressed by a very wide margin. In the 8 weeks that I've had it I can confidently say that I've swayed the purchase of at least one a week.

If Apple employed vertical-marketing strategies, I'd be all over it.

I only bought it because it was 399 dollars for 16GB model. I bought first gen iphone and regretted so much. But, with this price break, I can try to ease my pain for being an early adaptor.

I ordered mine last Friday. Says ships by July 12, and supposed to be at my house on July 19. I doubt calling Apple will do anything. I have heard that it does arrive earlier, and the date it is giving you is just the date its guaranteed by. But who knows, I guess time will tell. Its going to be a long 20 days tho

i ordered mine June 18 and it arrived yesterday when it said it would July 1st. Some have had it deliver the day it was expected to deliver, others have been earlier. I do not think that calling apple will do anything. Another way is to go into a store and put your name for a reservation in store and then if the in store comes earlier you can cancel your order if it hasn't shipped yet. and vice versa. If your ipad shipped, cancel your reservation.

Do you have a local best buy around? I went to mine and bought my ipad as opposed to apple's online store. I got it that day. Same thing just different store.

I've taken the iPad to bed just about every night since I've had it. I took the iPhone 4 to bed with me last Thursday. I think we'll do a threesome from now on.

I have had my 64gb iPad now for 2 weeks and cannot put it down. Web browsing, contacts, iWork, videos amongst loads of other things. It will not replace a laptop but it does exactly what I need it to do and more. You won't regret it. One thing I would suggest straight away is a case. I got a leather look one from ebay for £15 and it's just as good as the ones apple sell

Dude, you're so gonna regret this decision. I hope you're prepared for an overpriced apple paperweight. But the battery is good, so it should be able to weigh down papers for hours on end.

I guess it all depends on why you bought it. I'm a pretty light computer user (Internet, email, word processing). The iPad is the only computer I use now. I love it. I find new apps and uses almost daily.

I think what the guy meant was that the iPad 16GB cost :$499.99 not $399.99 unless you don't live in the U.S or you bought the iPad at ebay or craigslist for cheaper

I bought it from apple and I piad 399.99 + 6% tax for Maryland.
I never buy apple products this late. I always get it on the day one or I get it with discount. I only got it because I was getting it for 399 dollars. I was never interested in 3G version, but wi-fi only.

How did you get it for 100.00 less from Apple? They don't even give a student or corporate discount on these.
