My refurb came in today, and other than the white box, I wouldn't be able to tell it from new.

Just off and back on if you have trouble after activating should work. I didn't need to do it though.

How many business days did it take? Just curious.

so refurbished iphones don't come with the nice original packaging and manuals, etc?

Wow, sucks to be you, man ...

I'd send it back and get a brand new 8GB for the same price.

I know I'm so pissed. What would be cool is if Apple sent me the 8GB anyway, just to be awesome. They obviously knew that they were going to lower the price. Probably not, but I can dream.

Edit:
Could I bring it to an Apple Store? I don't want to have to wait AGAIN!!!

Take it in a see what they can do. You might mention that you're not just a regular customer, you're ghall, the famous author of teen advice thread on Macrumors. (Hey, couldn't hurt, I don't think).

If that doesn't work, autograph it and sell it on eBay with an "officially authenticated" printout of aforementioned teen advice threads.

Hahaha, funny. :)

Anyway, I called Apple and got $100 back, so I'm really not complaining, maybe I can use the money to fix up my broken iPod.
