Apple have not killed the yellow tint problem 100%. I just received my 27" i7 today and it had a noticeable yellow tint at the bottom of the screen. Replacement ordered right away - what a waist of resources from both Apple and the consumer this is.

Really, should there be another thread for this? There are several already...this is a good one.
I'm thinking that it was already stocked. I've got a good week 7. A week 9 with yellow tint isn't out of the question, IMO. It's not like there's a 4 week difference between their 'fix' and the receipt of your iMac.
BTW, I think you meant 'waste', not 'waist'.
Quite right on the waist/waste. At least I did not say it was a "waist of there" time. Forgive me as english is not my first language.

I had already given up days ago responding to posts like this but I have to ask, why would you order a replacement? You said it yourself that Apple have NOT killed the tint problem 100%. Dude, understand something, and sorry for the shouting, "YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET A REPLACEMENT THAT LOOKS ANY DIFFERENT THAN THE ONE YOU SENT BACK".
How many threads do we have about people getting replacement iMacs, replacement screens, repairs and nothing is different. I'll bet any money yours looks pretty damn good but you are allowing this forum to dictate the fate of your happiness with your iMac purchase. You can disagree with this all you want but I can also bet that you would NEVER have noticed the tint on your iMac had you never read anything about it on the web, especially coming here, just saying.
not a screen shot, a real picture of your screen?
I am just curious how week 9's look and if it's "acceptable" or a product of too much forum reading...
what is the wait time for the replacement ? can u hold on to your imac one with the problem , before u received the replacement ...

Dude, you need to understand something too: APPLE HAS CLAIMED THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM, THAT IS WHY PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER IT IS TRUE OR APPLE LIED TO THEM.
I had a week 5 27" that had pretty bad with yellow at the bottom right corner (along with a another issue unrelated to the screen).
When I asked if I could hold onto my current machine while the replacement was ordered (I was quoted another 3 week wait at the time), they said that was not possible.
I then asked if I could put an order for another machine, but get permission to return the original for a full refund when the new one finally arrived, but they refused. I was told that I MAY have to pay a restocking fee. Since I couldn't get an absolute answer I wasn't going to tempt fate. (I have already done that enough lately)
I did receive my replacement late last week. It has slight yellow tinge toward bottom and center, and a little banding issue toward the bottom.
So now, I too am debating whether this is worth the hassle. Maybe we should just accept this as the quality of this product? If it is unacceptable, return it and get something else, if not keep it and live with it.
I am going to sit on it a few more days. At least by then the supposed fix may be through the production chain.
Furthermore it will undergo manual screen check before shipment. Take this with a grain of salt - that is what I was told by Apple.
That's too bad. Indeed it does seem like a huge waste of time, energy, and money to get this solved. So much for being "green."
Apple has given consumers an ultimatum.
Keep it or return it. Period.
They will allow ONE screen replacement.
If you don't like it, return it for a refund.
Apple is NOT going to fix this issue. These are defective monitors. They ALL have yellow blemishes in them. It is what it is. Apples specs allow this.
Know that if you order an iMac it will most likely have yellowing. You either live with it or return it. That is what Apple has essentially stated.
Buyer beware.

Dude, or not dude, EVENTUALLY HE WILL GET A GOOD ONE.
