Apple has given consumers an ultimatum.

Keep it or return it. Period.

They will allow ONE screen replacement.

If you don't like it, return it for a refund.

Apple is NOT going to fix this issue. These are defective monitors. They ALL have yellow blemishes in them. It is what it is. Apples specs allow this.

Know that if you order an iMac it will most likely have yellowing. You either live with it or return it. That is what Apple has essentially stated.

Buyer beware.

Honestly, I'm waiting on my SECOND screen replacement. The first one had severe backlight-bleeding. So, Appl asked me the get another LCD replacement. If it still has any problem, they will change the new one for me.

Lilo, no offense, but I would rather see Apple's official statement on Apple's own website. However, I was already aware of that. Apple's said FIX doesn't mean people will be satisfied and most likely will still "view" a yellow tint which may appear as "within spec" to Apple.

Stop spreading these lies. Please.
Apple will continue to replace your screen until it is perfect. I have been through multiple screen replacements. Saying they only allow one screen replacement is a flat out lie. People, do not listen to this person.

i still have yet to see in person an imac with a yellow tint. my room mate has a 27" imac, i have a 27" imac, i've been to best buys and apple stores and seen 27" imacs, i saw about 30 27" imacs at macworld 2010, none of them had a yellow tint on the screen.

Same here - never seen one in the stores. Then I got one myself this afternoon. At first I thought I was seeing things, but after testing it was super obvious.

snap.... awaiting my 4th 27" imac

I understand there is a lot of talk about the iMac and the yellow tints these days. If you do not want to participate please just skip. It is a very real problem for those of us getting these machines.

Yep, the same ole, "If you don't like it find somewhere else to post" jazz. Did I say that? I'm just giving you some friendly advice, don't get caught up in endless exchanges like many others allegedly say they are doing. Just give yourself an honest answer to this question, would you even really have noticed or cared about a slight variance in color uniformity of your screen if you had no forum or blogs on the web to read about it?

Hmmm. that is sketchy at best... it's a "blog" post with some quoted sentence that is suppose to be from Apple...

Not sure I am buying that one bit... wonder they bribed him off???

That's why I asked for a link. I've yet to see a direct and official statement from Apple.

Dude, you need to understand something too: APPLE HAS CLAIMED THAT THEY FIXED THE PROBLEM, THAT IS WHY PEOPLE ARE TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHETHER IT IS TRUE OR APPLE LIED TO THEM.

Not so. They say they have ADDRESSED it, not fixed it. And they HAVE addressed it by exchanging it when requested.

"We've addressed the issues that caused display flickering and yellow tint. Customers concerned that their iMac is affected should contact AppleCare."

By inserting an (A) and (B) in there, perhaps you'll find it easier to comprehend:

"We've addressed (A) the issues that caused display flickering and (B) yellow tint. Customers concerned that their iMac is affected should contact AppleCare."

The statement does not say anything about fixing yellow tint or even if there's an issue that causes it. The "issues" in the statement relate to flickering, which they HAVE fixed. It simply says they have addressed the subject of yellow tint which is obviously true.

Seems to me someone should be able to process words correctly before they go around accusing others of lies.

All this does assume, of course, that Gizmodo reported this accurately in the first place, which is doubtful.
