If you’re out of the return window and cannot prove it’s defective, Apple will not swap it out. Hence the wash I took on the 2017 12.9”. I did return every subsequent iPad Pro or Mini (yes 2019) that exhibited this issue. Why would anyone keep an iPad that had touch issues? Apple has a warranty against defects and they also sell Apple care. I’ve own every iPad except iPad 4, only had touch issues with one. My launch day gen 3 12.9 had touch issues, I took it to my local Apple store and they replaced it. Haven’t had any issues with the new one.
There’s zero reason to keep an iPad that is defective, unless you’re buying out of warranty used.
Edit... I haven’t owned the new mini 5 either.
I finally filmed the irresponsiveness on my 2018 iPad last night, but forgot to leave it alone this morning so I have to wait until it happens again to bring it to Apple.
