It's a beta. Stuff won't work right. If you rely on your device heavily and need stability, DO NOT INSTALL THE BETA! The beta will kill your battery. Your phone will have performance issues. Your phone may heat up. Apps may not work or load at all.

It's a beta.

It's a beta.

You need to be a DEV to get it. Public release in July.
Publix release is in the Fall. The Public Beta will be released in July, but again, it is still a Beta.

Sad people feel they have to post this every year. Folks should know this

… or be Tester as a Job you do Monday - Friday + crouching.

Thank you for once again opening eyes of people… who were probably deceived by YouTube folks owning several devices who just talk about what is new and shiny without all the bad things happening when using beta software.

If you want to use it - face the consequences and have fun of discovering new bugs go all in :) but for f sake report bugs 🐛 and share them with people around.

Write good steps to repro, ask around maybe you are the only who noticed it, try to figure out what might have happened, give Apple all the logs you can give and share bug report IDs with other folks to make life easier for Apple guys and non technical people who will use it later.

Having an extra iPhone for playing around with beta is fun.

Beta on a primary iPhone is a no-no.

Just saying....

Is there any issue to using your ID on two phones? I'm curious if it will cause problems for email, photos, iCloud, etc.

I have a spare iPhone and would like to download it onto it but I'm unsure if it causes issues having my ID on two phones.

No there isn’t any problem. I used to keep an old phone around set up exactly the same as my primary phone except with no cell service. Essentially it became an iPod touch as I used it primarily for playing my music library. I also would occasionally install betas on it instead of my primary phone. Same Apple IDs, I have 2, just name them differently so you don’t confuse yourself.

Sounds all butterflies and rainbows but see how many actually follow suit. I’ve long resigned to submitting my reports and keeping it to myself as nothing is ever reciprocated in any sort of permanent sense.

technically, there's no problem using the same Apple ID on multiple devices - that's one of the purpose of it, to keep your devices in sync and cooperating together (handoff, continuity, continuity camera, sidecar, icloud sync, etc)

HOWEVER the caveat here is that often the new apps in the betas (Notes for example) create pieces of data that are NOT compatible with the older apps in the current (stable) iOS version. That's where the experience starts to degrade a bit.. e.g. I would create a note in iOS16 beta last year, but would not see the new note in my other devices because they were not on the beta.

There's no telling if it's like that this year but with changes coming to many apps, I wouldn't be surprised..

Thanks for the info.!

So… just like iOS16?
