Maybe its just me but I keep getting my new iPad out of its folio because of how nice it is to hold in your hands bare naked…. Sorry for the nudity. But its just so thin and light. Putting in in a case or in a folio just makes it feel more clunky and heavy...
just sharing my thoughts. Please ignore it if you don't like it.

I’ve thought about doing this as well. It’s such a shame covering up a beautiful device with a case.

Relatedly, every time I upgrade my iPhone I think, “I should use it without a case,” but always chicken out. My iPhone‘s back sees the light of day the day it’s taken out of the box, the day it’s traded in, and a handful of times in between when I switch cases.

I have a folio for my 11, but I only use it out outdoors. Indoors, all carpeting, so no drop worries.

I might like to - 13" Pro - but it feels too slippery in my hands.

I use a clear case on my phone, so you can at least see the color. (Also because they have better drop protection than the FineWoven case.) I’ve found that my phone is more likely to have a serious drop than a tablet is, probably due to hours of usage (especially hours of usage outside of home).

For me the only purpose of the case is as a kickstand. Other than that, especially if I use my iPad standing or sitting in my hand I only use it (or rather them) naked.
That's why I only used magnetic stands and keyboards, because I can remove them easily
I am not afraid of dropping it, don't even want Apple Care+.
On the contrary my phone is always in a Silicon case, I drop it every now and then, not iPads.

Good to know. My 12.9 iPad Pro is heavy to go with out Magic Keyboard or folio. The grip is uncomfortable to go naked. I guess the weight difference is decent enough for M4.

I prefer the devices without cases as well. My iPad is constantly in the Magic Keyboard though but for some reason in the last few months I’ve been taking it out and I prefer it..

My iPhone 15 pro I’ve had for 3 months caseless and is still mint but I’m super careful with it.. my biggest mistake I use to make with this was putting it in same pocket as keys!

Same. I take off the folio when I am using the iPad on the couch or bed, and I can’t stand the iPad being any thicker or heavier then it originally is.

The magnets are strong, I give Apple credit for this.

That’s the other main reason for me to use the Magic Keyboard that makes it so easy to use the iPad naked , the other reason is of course the keyboard and trackpad, which makes it a very convenient small laptop.
