This happens when u let your friends come to close to your iPhone 3gs ^^
Just sent the phone to server so i will be without my 3gs for 2 weeks :/

Its gonna be lonely to blog without my iPhone :p

Agreed with above it depends on your friends most of the people i hand it to know to be careful as soon as they handle it

I had one of the first color cellphones back in the day. I let my usually sensible friend play mini golf on it, and when he was done he threw it back at me and said "catch" as it was in mid air. Funny looking back on it I was so upset with him, but these days it would not even be worth $5.

Most of my friends absolutely hate mac (even though none of them have used one, funny how that works) so I don't let them near my iPhone.

Thats pretty messed up thing to do with someones stuff.
Shows jealousy and ignorance.
I would have beat his a$$.....

this goes well with the saying

choose your friends wisely. ;) very few are allowed to handle my phone it's more my tool then a toy. Also if that were my friend he would pay at least the $300 or we would be going to small claims court.

OP, that's definitely bad news. Best to choose your friends wisely.

BTW, if my friend allowed me to touch his iPhone, and I dropped it or otherwise damaged it, the first words out of my mouth would be "Oh, ****! I'm very sorry."

Immediately followed by "Tell me how much it will be to repair/replace it."

Then "Do you want a check or cash?"

4g resistant

I hope freaking Apple comes up with a more resistant iphone 4g. The glass cracks easily on drop and plastic casing cracks easily too.

this is why

I never go Naked ;) still not perfect but a good case does help! otterbox is bulky and ugly but a awesome case! right now though a Griffin Chilewich case has me very happy plus a Steinheil Anti Fingerprint screen. I have tried several and I like them best. though I get mine though Wireless rage SGP store sucks!

Hopefully the next generation iPhone will use Corning's Gorilla Glass. Supposed to be very tough, although there's already at least one report of someone cracking a Droid screen, which is made of the stuff.

Still, I know too many people that have broken iPhone screens, so any extra toughness of the glass would be a big bonus (unless Apple prefers to keep things the same to boost sales and repair revenues!).

Agreed. I would automatically offer to pay for it if I broke it.

At least he/she paid for it to be repaired. Last year, this idiot stole my BlackBerry Pearl for a prank and threw it onto the roof of a building at school. He agreed to climb up and get it. He climbed up and then he threw it at the ground from 25 feet in the air and claimed it broke because of poor manufacturer quality. That ***hole.

That glass looked amazing for the scratch test. I feel like corner impact breaks it just as easy whereas direct impact it's durable.
