ouch, reminds me of my friend and his brand new MackBook Pro. Had it for 2 weeks and one of his 3 roommates ended up stepping on it and cracking the screen. There's a fat footprint on the screen, but none of my friend's roommates would allow him to size up their feet, nor did any of them come forward to claim responsibility/pay for repairs.

My question to him afterward was - why are you still rooming with them?

@OP... sorry to see this happen :( that sucks for sure.

This brings up a question about OLED screens... I don't know the tech spec's behind the OLED screen, but wondering if it is more durable than the current glass screens on the iPhone/Touch's?

I love that SEC comes into play on the MacRumors forums! WAR EAGLE!!

That sucks about the phone. I have been very lucky with mine. I have been blamed for breaking a friends phone and I didnt pay for it. We still fight over the facts to this day. It was in her back pocket and she jumped on me and threw her on the bed... who keeps a phone in a back pocket! It was a Moto s60 I think..the little flip.. it still worked after for a little bit just with lots of tape. She ended up getting it replaced like 2 months later for a new one when her 2years was up.

That's why I lend my friends my iPod touch instead of my 3GS for fear of them dropping and damaging it.

OP: Sorry for your loss . . . :(

OP, that's definitely bad news. Best to choose your friends wisely.

BTW, if my friend allowed me to touch his iPhone, and I dropped it or otherwise damaged it, the first words out of my mouth would be "Oh, ****! I'm very sorry."

Immediately followed by "Tell me how much it will be to repair/replace it."

Then "Do you want a check or cash?"

This. Probably followed by tears.
