Before when I had 3.0 the keyboard clicks were louder, but now they're not after I upgraded to 3.1. The volume on everything else is still normal. Anyone else?

I think that the keyboard clicks are obnoxious. That was the first thing I turned off when I first got my phone. On a phone with a loud clicky keyboard, like a BlackBerry Curve, the clicks aren't anywhere near as loud as they are on the iPhone. They are supposed to be a small amount of feedback that you've hit a key, not to be overly annoying.

I LOVE YOU.

Its been reported many times.

Count me in as THANKFUL for this new feature. My brother uses the clicks and it gets annoying… now that they're less loud… they don't annoy me as much while he's sitting next to me texting his girlfriends.

Perhaps that was a purposeful change by Apple? I hope so.

The keyboard clicks are annoying. Nothing like sitting in a quiet waiting room to hear the click-click-click of the iPhone keyboard.

Keyboard clicks are for people that would really like to say: "Hey everybody! Look at me! I have an iPhone!"

I didn't notice the volume. As long as I can hear the click, it doesn't matter as I just need to confirm that I pressed the button.

Isn't the fact that the word (that you were typing) appears on the screen confirmation enough that you pressed those keys? Do you really need to hear it? I mean, what else are you looking at while you are typing on your iPhone?

EDIT: I read over what I wrote, and I see that it can read as not-so-nice. Instead of figuring out a way to retype it in a nicer way, I just thought I'd state that I'm not trying to be a d*ck; I'm honestly curious about the need for clicks.

I love how "girlfriends" is plural :p, Go TheSpaz's brother!:D

I love it when my brother has the clicks "on" and his iPhone lags (it's on 3.1 so that's understandable) and he types out a sentence and it goes "Brrrrrrrrrrrr" all at once. Haha!

Yeah that used to suck but the 3GS fixed that;)

It does get annoying, but if I'm alone then I like it on. If I'm in a quiet waiting room I put my phone on silent. But, if I'm walking and it's loud I like to have it on so I know I hit the key.

Well, yes, the word appearing is confirmation, but I guess I just like feedback.
I mean, even for regular computer keyboards, instead of the keys on the laptops, I prefer the older-style regular desktop keyboard keys, since I actually press it down more and it comes up more. I don't know, I guess it's just personal preference?

keyboard clicks aren't as loud...

Thank god, right? I couldn't stand how loud they were. I like having them on every once an in a while now, but before I always had them off.

I can't stand people who forget to turn those clicks off when they're in public
