This is driving me, my wife, and another friend of mine insane with Messages app. More often than not, the keyboard will overlap the bottom lines of text in the iMessage conversation, and the only way to fix it is to close the app completely, or drag the keyboard off the screen and bring it back up.

It's been doing this on iOS 11.0, 11.0.1, and still in 11.1 public beta.

I'm on a 7 Plus 11.1 public beta, wife is on am iPhone 7 11.0.1, and friend in the UK on a 7 Plus at 11.0.1 as well.

Really freaking annoying!

Is this more on iPad (you mention dragging the keyboard) or iPhone?

This is an iPhone issue. You can drag the keyboard downwards on the iPhone to move it out the way.
Right, you can hide it there usually by scrolling through the conversation.

So are you saying that this comes up when you bring up the keyboard to type a reply basically? Or that the keyboard is always up hiding part of the last message?

What I'm saying is that quite often the keyboard is covering the last message in the conversation, and when I scroll down to try and see that last message, you get the familiar iOS bounce as if it thinks it's in the right place already. So that last message or so is still covered by the keyboard.

This issue happens on multiple other messaging apps as well. Unsure if apps need to fix to be compatible with iOS 11

If it's happening OS wide now since iOS 11, then this is Apple's issue to fix. Hopefully at some point soon - because it's super annoying.

I have not experienced this since I switched to G Board on my iPhone 7 running iOS 11.0.1. so perhaps it's just the native keyboard? G Board is available from the App Store, only small, and offers a white on black option which I prefer. It's easy to swap between keyboards, give it a try.

Were you having the issue with the native keyboard? Thanks.

I have the same issue. Native Message app with native keyboard. iOS 11 and 11.01, 7 plus and 8 plus.

Really annoying.

However you can leave the conversation and go back in. I don’t have to close the app.

It really is annoying. The update to 11.1 beta didn’t solve anything, but I do on occasion have the iPhone X multitask bar at the bottom of the screen covering my keyboard now. Lol.

Same here on iPhone 6Plus. I've taken to using the horizontal orientation so I can see the last message.

Also having this issue. It's been a while since I've used Gboard but I'm gonna give it another go after seeing that this is a widespread thing.

This happened to me on the LINE app as well. Basically the keyboard is not pushing the whole conversation back up the screen. Instead, the keyboard comes up and blocks the last half of the conversation

No, I swapped from an Android phone, a temporary replacement for my 5S and installed G Board as I had come to like it's features on the Android. So I have not really used the native keyboard much.

Maybe this happens if you have some keyboards with languages that don't support predictive text.

Is there a page where this b ug is reported? It's really killing me. I'm even starting to get used to dealing with this crap
