This happens occasionally on my iPhone 7 on 10.3.3. I wouldn't be surprised if it's gotten worse in iOS 11 though. I assume it's related to all the various modal panels that have filled iOS incorrectly communicating their dimensions to each other.

This is driving me, my wife, and another friend of mine insane with Messages app. More often than not, the keyboard will overlap the bottom lines of text in the iMessage conversation, and the only way to fix it is to close the app completely, or drag the keyboard off the screen and bring it back up.

It's been doing this on iOS 11.0, 11.0.1, and still in 11.1 public beta.

I'm on a 7 Plus 11.1 public beta, wife is on am iPhone 7 11.0.1, and friend in the UK on a 7 Plus at 11.0.1 as well.

Really freaking annoying!
Happens to me as well. Immensely annoying.
I’m glad they’re giving us new emojis though! That makes it all better!

Because clearly the people working on emojis would be fixing software issues otherwise. And clearly nothing else has been getting addressed.

Happens to me all the time, extremely annoying....

Obviously you've never been involved in programming, or IT in general to make such a statement...

I noticed when I'm typing the text box doesn't always expand so I only see the last line I typed and when I hit send, the text box expands to full size then the type shifts down then back to the original position before it sends. I'm not sure I'm describing it well.

Let’s hope iOS 11.1 fixed this! There’s nothing in the release notes but we can only hope!

It seems that iOS 11.2 (which was just released) might have a fix for this, as this is mentioned in the release notes:
- Fixes an issue in Messages where the keyboard could overlap the most recent message

Great, thank you!

For me 11.2 hasn't fixed this issue. It happens for all texting apps - whatsapp, viber, messenger... I found one report where they suggest Reset all settings, but with mixed results, so I don't feel like doing it. Annoying to say the least. My friend had the same problem and it went away with 11.1.2... I guess I'll wait for the next release...

Can confirm this is NOT fixed in iOS 11.2 release version. Happened not a half hour after updating. Ugh...

This has been reported elsewhere, too. Also, some text and graphics out of square in some native apps. iOS11.x.x
Sloppy. Meanwhile, patches (sorry...'updates') since have covered issues that should have been resolved in Beta, and still visual elements haven't been touched yet.

Seems like there were some messaging related fixes in iOS 11.2.5 (although not specifically for this), perhaps this might also be resolved in some indirect way?

Who knows...? Time will tell, since my iPhone X prior to this new update still has the issue.
