But seriously, this whole "people who would buy a Mac Pro already have a keyboard and mouse" argument is pathetic.

Agree

Me, myself I love it when I get a new computer and it comes with new input devices. It is a good excuse to retire the old grubby one.

I like custom mechanicals

But I still think they excluded the input devices just to make the box smaller.

Bingo! Obviously ...

I believe the reason there is no Keyboard included is the new black keyboards are not ready yet.

So getting less and making excuses about how "right" Apple is in doing this seems apropos of many a Macrumors thread. Glad to see nothing has changed. Who cares if you use it or not? If it is your 1st Mac purchase you should get a mouse and a keyboard in the box. How difficult is it to paint keys black? Use the MacBook Pro molds. Done. Is this lack of peripherals the "Texas" tax?

I agree and disagree with you. I just don't think it's a big deal

you're not getting less.. unless you think in the past apple just threw in the keyboard and mouse for free..

the new mac is about $1000 more than the old one.. leaving out the mouse/keyboard.. a stick of ram.. and likely taking a few hits on ram and gpu markups, they've made it seem like it's only $500 more.
