Target, BestBuy and B&H are all selling the iPad Pros at full-price, despite the rumored new models coming out later this month. Kind of interesting, because in the past we've seen significant sales before iPad releases. Example: I got my 9.7" Pro for $150 off at Target 4 weeks prior to the 10.5" announcement.

There have been a number of sales recently. I'm not sure the two are correlated. That said, I'm not 100% convinced we'll see new iPad Pros. I really, really hope so, but after several missed possibilities to announce it, they really could be holding off for some reason.

We’ll dance the Macarena using the quad speakers on our iPad Pros. Wait and see.

But anyway: maybe price increases are coming, so it doesn’t make sense for them to go on sale just yet.
Yeah could be a sign the new iPad Pro will start at 1099... Christ....

What do you think this event is for?
Media? Apple has ~$1billion in TV/movies they've developed but not released. Software? Logic X (or FCP X) haven't had a major upgrade in many years. The venue and small invited audience could suggest that.

Look, I really really hope the iPad is released. I'll prob order one on day one, but in the last two Apple events the iPad Pro update was expected and didn't materialize. Apple has a *lot* of products in the works and we don't know until we know what they are releasing.

It was leaked yesterday that the new small ipad pro will start from 849$ with 128gb

I disagree. The iPad Pro and Pencil have been huge in their “today at apple” scheme and their education offerings. The whole ‘making’ bit seems to tie into the same thing. I think we will see new Ipads, i’m just not convinced they will be as super awesome as the rumors are suggesting.

I actually think they'll be announced, but not available until later this year
Later this year? Not much time left in the year, and only a short few weeks before the holiday shopping takes place. Expect them to be available a week or two after announcement.

Wouldn’t make sense to announce them far in advance because it would immediately cannibalize the sales of their current Pros.

I think we'll see shipping in late nov/ early dec. But I'm just speculating.

Ugh. So now once you add the keyboard and Pencil it’s edging over 1,000. So annoying that Apple always has to increase the cost per unit every year.

There have always been iPad Pro configurations (when including the smart keyboard and Pencil) that broke the $1000 mark. This wouldn't be the first time. As long as Apple produces a low-cost, quality non-Pro iPad like the 2018 iPad, they'll have the freedom to raise prices on the Pro line.

These things have had 100-150 off sales several times starting shortly after launch. You should do much better than that soon.

That’s kind of a strange argument though, because they’re raising the price across the board. The one that I want (10.5 WiFi) will cost much more than it did last year. It doesn’t really matter to me that there have always been models priced over $1000, doesn’t make it any easier to swallow.

You don't know what the price of the new 10.5 will be (if there WILL BE a new one) so it is premature to say it is going to cost more, let alone "much more" than the current model. And it SHOULD matter to you that full Pro configs have always been priced over $1000 because that should have set your expectation of what you're going to pay.

Besides, that's MSRP. Nobody should be paying MSRP for iPad Pros. Best Buy and Staples regularly run sales on iPad Pros... back in the day, I bought a 12.9 Pro for $175 off, $25 off the smart keyboard, and $20 off the Pencil.

Its more than worth it. There is no product that really competes with the design and
functionality of the ipad pro.

Apple's raising pricing on base models but if you tend to upgrade to higher capacities, the prices may not actually vary by much.

I paid the ff (all are LTE models):
$829 iPad 3 64GB
$929 iPad 4 128GB
$879 iPad Pro 9.7 128GB
$879 iPad Pro 10.5 256GB (skipped this but here just as a point of comparison)

Also:
$1229 iPad Pro 12.9 (1st gen) 256GB
$1029 iPad Pro 12.9 (2nd gen) 256GB
$1229 iPad Pro 12.9 (2nd gen) 512GB

On a side note, paid $849 for iPhone 6 Plus 64GB back in 2014. It's finally getting upgraded to iPhone XR 128GB for $799.

I expect the new iPads to have higher pricing, both the 11'' and 12.9'' I expect to take similar price points to what the Macbook Air historical pricing range has been, so in the UK would be 749 for the 11'' (130 increase) and 899 (130 increase) for the 12.9'' base models. However I expect them to keep the existing models around at slightly lower pricing - then next year phase them out.

Also existing stock and capacities of 2017 spec iPad Pro's are perfect for Black Friday.

I hope you’re right, 749 is easier to swallow. That’s their typical price for a lot of products too. iPhone XR, Apple Watch stainless, I could see it being priced there. Will they keep the current models around? Maybe. They haven’t done that previously with iPad but they’re doing it more and more with iPhone, Watch and Mac.
