No Guild Wars love because it is loose on the rules that make something an MMO. It just doesn't qualify as one is most people's minds.

Regarding GW, I don't care for 100% instanced questing space. Means you are forced to party before leaving town as there is no chance you'll just happen to bump into another player in the field. Also I detest invisible walls and no ability to jump.

I thought I imagined I read that the new GW yet to be released might have a monthly fee? Not sure...

Yeah, you can't meet new people when your out of a town, but I like that. It makes the world feel yours and you don't have to worry about douche bags. haha.

I don't think GW2 will have a monthly feel; they said it wasn't part of their philosophy.

100% instanced space is ideal for dedicated groups and does make the world seem more personal. :)

My vote would go for EQ. Up until EQ came out the MMO world was vastly different. WoW is a huge success, but was modeled after EQ.

Although I love UO, it was the game that sucked me into the genre. The most challenging and entertaining game for me was EQ. Since then I have beta'd and played a good number of them, DAoC, WoW, SWG, AO, Lineage II, FF Online, etc.

I recently started back up in EQ on the mac server. I love it. The community is great and the world hasn't been updated since the PoP expansion. One of the reasons I left EQ in the first place was due to not liking the expansions post PoP. So, it was a perfect fit to play again.

www.eqmac.com great site for the EQ server community.

There is just a cartoon at this link... Are they out of business?

The devs have stated they want to spend less time keeping the website up and running and more time coding the game. They will put the website up when beta comes which shouldn't be too log since they have been in Alpha for awhile.
